Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | What made you get a yorkie? Im just curious how everyone stumbled upon this great lil breed... I have to be honest. I did not want one. I wanted a Westie My daughter Avery is the one that insisted she get a yorkie. Then we go look at them and there were 3....2 looked like lil fluffy teddy bears and one was scrawny, mean, and looked like a fox. So of COURSE Avery wanted the scrawny mean girl! I was like ....Oh boy.....Well how wrong was I???? We got a SWAN! Dont get me wrong she is still a mean lil thing lol but now we blame her brother for that!!

| I wanted a teeny tiny long haired baby to spoil and take with me everywhere (my husband and I have no children). A yorkie seemed the natural choice!

| I had a Yorkie years ago and never got over her. She was just so wonderful - beautiful, smart, friendly. I just don't think anything else compares to a Yorkie, though there are several other breeds I would like to own too. I think I need a farm! Bella is precious! She's definately a "swan".

| I wanted to look at getting a dog (yellow lab) and hubby really didn't/doesn't want big dog so we thought about little dogs-yorkies and maltese. We'd had 2 persians and we were hoping for a breed that didn't shed, so that kinda left labs out. Anyhow, we boat a lot and thought a smaller breed dog would be best and we got a gem!

I wanted a Yorkie because I was brought up around them... my Mum had two Yorkies when I was born so I grew up round them. When I first moved out my partner at the time wouldn't let me get a Yorkie so I bought a Border Collie instead. When we split up Ky stayed with them and when I moved put my parents again I was going to get a rescue but my parents got me a Yorkie instead!

| Your scrawny one definitely turned out to be a beauty! I met my grandmother on my Mom's side for the first time when I was 20. She had a Yorkie named Penny that I absolutely fell in LOVE with. Not only was she this adorable teeny tiny little thing - she had SO much spunk & personality -- definitely did not know her size, at all! I soon learned that this was a trait of all Yorkies! I loved Penny so much that my Grandmother named me her Godmother, and she my Goddoggy. It wasn't enough for me, though & since then, I've wanted a Yorkie of my own. After that point, I got married, had kids of my own & moved overseas with my family (due to my husband's work). Years passed & I still never forgot about my godpuppy Penny, or the desire to have my own Yorkie. As soon as we found out we were coming back to the States, I started doing research & found a breeder. Right after we unpacked all of our stuff & got settled, we welcomed our little Amelia into our home - and it's been bliss ever since!

YT 500 Club Member | With me I have been reading about different breeds for a long time lol, tying to figure out which is best for me. Well I came down to it last year (it took a long time) and I decided I would love to have a yorkie or maltese. So I went on a search first looking for yorkies but I could not find any breeders well most adverstised Teacup, and this was way before I joined here. Than I started reading about puppy mills, byb etc you know educating myself and drifted into loving the maltese breed also so I went searching, talk to some great show breeders, Eva from Unforgettable Maltese is just excellent. Well I found this site in Jan or Feb and started reading all the magnificent things about Yorkies and how sweet they are and I just fell in love. When a yorkietalk friend told me about Helen from Nolen's Yorkies and I spoke with her and saw the pictures of her puppies, I knew right than I had to have a yorkie, I just fell in love with the breed and Poppy. So that's my story and I am sticking to it lol. Yorkie talk really has a impact on a girl
