| Ugh Groomers! I told the groomer I wanted Gwen to get a puppy cut from her neck down, and leave the front alone, so what do they do. They trim the front and barely touch the back. I said that's not what I wanted. The women told me we thought it would look better this way. I told her that's nice, walked out without paying and told her she lost my business. Why can't they just listen. |

| Not Nice Indeed~ I'm sorry they didn't listen to you. And the nerve of thinking they knew best instead of listening to you! I don't blame you telling them Not Nice and leaving...(maybe they learned something!) *** A bit off the subject...how is Skippy eating?

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I bet Gwen looks cute with her new cut - and I'm glad she's eating too....The BIG problem with groomers is THEY think it's their decision on how to cut. I totally understand your frustration....With Cheri's FIRST grooming visit - I said trim ONLY on the ears feet and butt...She came out with a totally chopped up face - I was shocked - and asked them what on earth they were cutting her with to make it so choppy - I DID pay for that bad cut - but had to fix it myself when I got home and never went back to them either - I've been to FIVE different groomers with my girls - now I do them myself - it's hopeless the way people aren't trained anymore. The day I find a GOOD groomer - You ALL will hear about it !! so far ...You'd think a big city like Houston would be full of them - |

| I hate when they shave the nose!! It looks ok when its first done, but then within a week the hair starts to grow and it looks bad. And you have to wait another year before you can do anything with it.. I cut Bell myself. But I so want to bring her in and have someone else do it for a change.

| That is so presumptuous! What would that groomer had done if she went in to get her hair cut and her stylist gave her a bald head? Sorry you had a bad experience! I hope they learned their lesson when you didn't pay and walked out! |

| Glad to hear i am not the only one when we had toby we took him in i asked for the puppy cut came back and they had SHAVED his whole belly...when asked why she said i thought he would look stupid in the puppy cut i assumed you just wanted him to be cooler so this is what i did. I swear if my husband hadnt stepped in at that point i probably would have taken the clippers to her hair!!!!

| I am glad you didn't pay. THAT might teach her something! For what it is worth...the groomer peoblem crosses into other breeds. I have taken my Scotties to groomers that clip them like a schnauzer. NOT the same. And I asked if they knew how to clip a Scottie. Now I do it myself. grr |

| Good! I'm glad that you just walked out without paying.... Maybe that will teach her a lesson in customer service. "The customer is always right." How does she expect to run a business like that???

| Do you girls have them cut inbetween the eyes or does it get better as the hair gets longer ? Had Rosi's shaved because it was poking in her eyes, just wanted to know as i have to take her in tomorro and have her little butt shaved. Her hair is very thick and matts awfull even though she gets brushed every day and she fights me every step of the way, exept her back and her head !!!!! |

| and this is why i groom toby myself..... i have never wanted to put up with a groomer (both paying for him to get groomed which can be expensive and having it done wrong)...... someone on here made a great suggestion of WRITING what you wanted done and giving one copy to the groomer and keeping another copy for yorself so that you have PROOF that this is what you want done....... i am also concerned that they will hurt my baby (i know i know....lol...... i have nervous mama issues).... my fiance made the statement after i groomed him the other day: "next time lets take him to the groomer" the only reason i would take him is if he can just get his nails clipped |

Orinskye: if you have been doing his nails yourself DO NOT take him in to have them done. If they hurt him (I know it wouldn't be on purpose) it will take him forever to trust YOU with nail clippers. I don't know who hurt Pirogue but he hasn't been to the groomers since he was about 6 months old and he is 15 months now. He shakes like a leaf if I am holding him in my lap and have nail clippers in my other hand. I don't even have to bring them near him, he only has to see them. He shakes so hard I am afraid to clip his nails, his paws shake so hard. They charged $8 at my vet to do Lady's nails and didn't get them as short as I do. It was safe but not worth my time as my vet is 30 minutes away from us. Sylvia | |

| I am sorry you had a poor grooming experience. Don't get discouraged my groomer was great and most will listen to what you want and do it.
