| I agree the time to learn everything you can about them is the best gift you can give your new furbaby.

YT 2000 Club Member | Last May my husband gave me the go a head to contact the breeder about getting our boy. Jeter was not born till September 30 and It was a LONG wait for me to bring him home. I read every book I could order from my Library on Yorkies, and Puppy training. I also found YT in June so I read a bunch of threads on house training, food, toy's, health issues to watch for. I also got to shop for things for Jeter, I knew I wanted a boy so I was able to get boy stuff for him. My mother also got him bunch of things too, like his food dishes, a collar ( for his Tags) and leash she even got him a blue stroller because i live in the downtown area. I also called and interview all the Local vets in my area.I was surprised when a bunch of the vets that I talked to said they did not get to many people calling Before they had a puppy, so they were real impressed that I was taking the time before getting a dog to see what was all involved with the care they provide. also I was lucky to live by my breeder and she let me come see Jeter quite a few times before he came home. On the weeks that I did not get to see him, she sent me photo updates!

| I can totally understand about the long wait for your new baby.... My girls are 5 weeks now.....I knew that I was getting a girl out of this litter before the mama was even bred....So I had a REALLLLLY LONG WAIT.... I have spent my time planning and a little shopping.....Ok...Maybe a lot of shopping..... And now that I am getting to keep both girls....I have double the shopping....They now have their crates....Been stocking up on lots of pink- blankets-toys-bowls, etc....Charms for their collars(for looks only)... The boys see all these toys and blankets and stuff come in and they can not understand why the stuff is put up in the armoire....And they can't have at it...lol But in all reality the time is going by really fast.... Good luck with you new baby...ANd be sure to show pics when you can.... Joyce

| I just went through this. Abby has only been home with me for 2 weeks. I first contacted the breeder on Jan. 5! I felt like she was never going to get here. I know what you mean about thinking about them all the time. The closer it got to time for her to come home, I was even dreaming about her. I read a lot! When I went to pick Abby up, there wasn't much that she told me, that I hadn't already read here or in one of my puppy training books. I can't wait to see the picture of your baby

| Congratulations!!! You must be so excited!! I remember when I got my first yorkie (little over a year ago), I thought the time would never get here!! I passed the time by shopping for him and getting everything I needed together. I also did lots of research online and on YT to make sure I was prepared. It's so exciting to bring them home!!!

YT 1000 Club Member | I am right there waiting with you. About 2 weeks before my little girl was born I contacted the breeder. She told me to call back after the 8th when the female was due. Well things happened and I got an email from her daughters letting me know that she was in the hospital but that my little girl had arrived with 2 brothers and was doing very well. I get to go see her on May 3rd so I will be taking lots of pics. But I have to wait til the end of june to bring her home when she is 12 weeks. So I am busy sewing dresses for her in all sizes and because she is possibly going to be my first show dog I am doing lots of research on that and about grooming and caring for a show dog. My other three are pets so they don't get wrapped but they do get oiled once a month and the rest of the time they get the CC silk spirits treatment.
