pure or not? I bought my youkie at a pet store and all i have is his family tree they said he is and i just need to register him but i dont have any way of doing that. is there a way to find out if he is truly pure and if so how do i reg him. Thanks from me and my bloo.:animal-pa |
you should have gotten his paperwork when you bought him...... |
I'd love to see pics of your new baby:) Congratulations - I'm sure you're madly in love already! |
If everyone knew that pet stores get their supplies from puppy mills, people wouldn't buy them and pet stores would stop selling them. People learn...not something that they know right off the bat. To the OP...hopefully, you received paperwork to register your pup. If not, contact the petstore and find out where they are. Good luck! |
I agree with everyone else in regards to the comment that was posted... Very Rude... There over a billion ppl in this country and everyone is not going to know that you really shouldn't buy from a pet store. I would find out were the parents are registered and then maybe you can go online and get the papers to register. Congrats on your new puppy!!!:D |
I have trouble seeing the beautiful babies in pet stores and I know we shouldnt buy them BUT it is so hard to see there cute little faces behind glass. Also I am the second owner of both my babies, but both originally came from pet stores. Both are wonderful and healthy. If I were to go looking for another I would look for a private breeder BUT I cant honestly say if I saw one in a pet store that I wouldnt buy it. :) We all have our own opinions and whos to say whos right or wrong. Certainly not I !! :) |

Being an owner of a pet store yorkie I am thankful to all of you who understand that not every one knows about puppy mills when they buy their dogs. Thanks for your kindness. My yorkie didn't get his papers right away. THey mailed them 3 months later. I never registered him cause it didn't matter to me. |
I can't say that I wouldn't have ever bought a puppy from a pet store either before I knew where they came from...they ARE tempting with their sweet little faces in those sad glass cases...:( The point is, you live and learn, but you love your baby no matter where he or she came from. :) |
Just want to say welcome to YT and I can't wait to see pictures of Bloo! Warm regards, |
:congrats: On your new baby!!! I just keep bugging them until you get what you need from them! |
Welcome to yt:) congrats on your new baby. if the pet store cant give you papers they should have the name of the kennel they got the pup from. |

I did receive the papers in the mail about 3 months after we got Roxi (from a pet store) and then I sent them in... You may just want to double check that that is the procedure where you got your baby... Congrats!!! you will learn a lot here!! XX |

Hiya!:) It is great that your little Yorkie :aimeeyork has found such a loving home. Have fun with new puppy.:animal-pa |
So many of us have made the same mistake but have learned from YT. So next time we won't go to the pet store but seek out a breeder of which YT has several. I got Buddy's paper's from the pet store at time of purchase along with a free vet visit and 1yr health guarantee. I got lucky. He's been healthy. |

I can understand why you felt that way :( |
I think it's a very narrow path, this Pet Store thing. For instance, on one hand I by all means see the point in not buying from them because it supports puppy mills. But then on the other hand let's say I was in a pet store picking up something for my baby and they just happened to have a Yorkie for sale. I will admit that even knowing what I know I am doubting that I could walk out of there without buying that baby because at least then I would know he/she was going to a good home and would be loved unconditionally. I don't know but for me I tend to lean toward looking at buying from a pet store as a form of rescue. Those babies didn't ask to be born and raised in puppy mills. Now that I have said all that WELCOME to YT and congrats on your new baby. Please don't feel outcasted because of others beliefs. There are tons of knowledgable here that are always willing to help. |

I agree with you, and I did put it that way myself once to which I got a response of "you shouldn't be shopping in pet stores at all because you are supporting puppy mills by giving them your money"... Seems like you can't win, but I'm on your side as far as that analogy goes!! ;) :D |

It's really not one individuals place to judge anothers beliefs, thoughts, ideas or whatever you care to title them. If we see an individual in bad need of help but we know that person was born in an underprivilaged home does that mean we should turn and walk away, leaving them to suffer? We couldn't do anything about this individual being underprivilaged but we could at least do our best to secure he/she a better future. Again, it's just my opinion and I'm not out to start any fights. But I also see no need in being "caddy" about someone elses views on a subject just because they differ from yours. |
Congrats! Before you know it, you'll forget all about the papers because you're head over heels in love. They just won't seem that important any more. |
