| She's Freaking Me Out!! Hey everyone-its definitely been a while since I've been on, i was super busy with work and trying to go to school...but I thought I would come by and visit with my fellow yorkie lovers; also I wanted some wonderful Yorkietalk advice on what my Dolce is doing. Here's the scenario: This only started about 3-4 days ago. We have a little alcove by the side door of our house where our washer/dryer is, nothing else except cabinets above the washer dryer and a few things we keep on top of the dryer that have always been there. So, a few days ago she started just standing thereand staring up at the cabinets. Not doing anything, just staring-no barking, growling, nothing. She did that for about a day or 2-she usually begs when we are eating at the table, but those 2 days, she just stood in that spot and didnt move. We would even call her from the living room, it took 2-3 times to call her and she finally came but then ran right back to the spot. Weird I know! So yesterday we come home, and she's again in that spot but now, she has moved into the alcove and is now trying to dig into the corner of the wall. She did it alllllllll night, and as the nite progressed she started growling and barking at it. I couldnt even let her sleep downstairs, I had to bring her up with me because she was so disruptive about it. I included some pics for you guys to get a visual on what she's doing-does anyone have any clue what it could be?????? Im totally lost!!!!! Thank you guys so much for all your help!! Great to be back!!

| Sounds like she may have heard a mouse. When we just had the cats, a mouse had gotten in from our downdraft and for about 6 mos after that, they would both just lay on the floor in front of the stove!

| I was thinking that, but we checked all behind the washer/dryer...i mean pulled it out and everything...gross by the way...and we had a mouse last year during the summer, and she never even acted like it was there!! I was like "do something Dolc"...and nothing-like it didnt even exist! So thats why this is weird to me because we've had a mouse once before and she could have cared less about it. Oh Im so confused....

| I agree. She has seen a creature of some kind. It was up on the shelf at some point and then back in the walls. I know when Millie gets obsessed about an specific area it's because there is something there, whether I see or not. Mostly she does it when her bully stick is hiding some place she cannot get too , but once it was a skunk in our airconditioning ducts .

| Not that I would know the answer...but just a couple thoughts: Could it be anything in the wall that is making some little scratching noises, spiders? I think Yorkies do get a little OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) sometimes. My Kizzie (RIP) actually had dementia and would stand and stare at the wall or in a corner. She would sometimes bark at the wall. But your yorkie looks pretty young to be having anything like this. Keep posting, it will be interesting to see what it turns out to be.

| Hmmm....I might have to do some serious detective work about this possible mouse situation...its just so weird because last time-NOTHING! I also laugh just watching her stand there and stare for hourssssss on end. I try and get her to play or distract her from there but she has the patience of a saint...she'll stand there all nite!! I promise to keep you all posted on what we find or if she continues to do it...(oh and btw, she is 3 1/2yrs old...she'll be 4 on August 1st!!) Seriously, on a side note, you guys are the best....getting back to me so fast and all of your insight!! Yorkietalk rocks!!!!!!!

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I'd vote she smells or hears a mouse. We had one in the garage before....Ramsey and Reese think it is still there. They still go to that one spot and act like it's there...we have even pulled out things to show them...it's gone. Ok today he might be....we'll check again tomorrow.

| Is your house haunted? I only ask because Sergeant and I went to our property in WV last weekend, it was my great grandparents house that they built about 100 yrs ago, Its deeply rooted to my whole family and its very haunted. Sergeant was being soooo weird about it. he would walk up to a door way (that no longer has a door attached) and stand up on his hind legs like he was trapped behind an invisible door and was leaning against it with his front legs. He was also digging at the stairs a lot, barking at the rocking chair... all kinds of weird stuff. He never acts like this at home, so I know its not a weird neurological thing.

| Ya know haunted was my 2nd choice in what it could be...I know dogs are capable of seeing ghosts. A lil spookier scenario, but very very possible!! I'll let ya know for sure! BTW, interesting that you have a haunted house in your family...were u scared??? I love stuff like that even though im a HUGE chicken! haha

| I agree, it could be a mouse or is it possible there could be ants or termites in the wall? I'm not sure what type of insects you get in your neck of the woods. Good luck on figuring it out!

| what about reflection in garbage can there. Maybe she thinks its another dawg coming into HER house. Or...a ghost. Terriers are one of the most in tune breeds to the energy from our un-manned spirits. Just a lil tid-bit I read somewhere and thought it was interesting. Goldens, and mastiffs rank high too. Ill look for the link if I can remember where i found it. Or maybe shes waiting for Santa! Anyways, good luck
