So, they are suppose to erect at all times? Tricksie must have some relations to a llama, hers can be erect, sideways, backwards, one up or one down.

With Rusty I rubbed and fed him cottage cheese, taped and had his ears shaved etc all in an attempt to make his ears stand erect. They never did. He has very large ears that are erect where he has cartilege and floppy at the tips where he has none. He can lay the ears down flat on his head at times. I have seen many Yorkies with one ear up and one ear down.

I secretly hoped his ears would not stand because I think Yorkies are cute with floppy ears! But I did try and it just didn't happen.

Baileys ears stood up a week after her first grooming appt. at 4 mos....and now they won't flop unless she's tired- good luck!!

ok,, cottage cheese?? now that one is new on me,, what is cottage cheese for?? and what type of tape do ya'll use?? as none i've tried will stay,, even after shaving the ears!

I found regular masking tape work the best, just rigid enough to make the ear stand up and yet light enough so that the dog is not bothered by it. I put the tape on both sides of the ear, inside and out and I make sure the tape sticks to each other at the end of the ears and it stays like that quite nice and it's not easy for the dog to take them off.

Ally's ears are floppy one hour - then one ear or the other will stand up. But we really don't care, she is so cute, and we love her sooooo much. She has wonderful kisses.
