I would give her a crate to go into, her own little den, where she can watch what is going on but still feel safe. She will venture out on her own to investigate when she feels more comfortable.

Cesar Milan says not to make a big issue of them being afraid or it will reinforce that behavior. Just put her in her own little space and play with her when she is feeling more secure.

Eight weeks is pretty young so you will have to act as her mother teaching her how to play without being too rough, and other proper dog etiquette.

I Remember Bringing Harvey Home At 8 Weeks And He Behaved Exactly The Same, He Became Very Clingy To Me And Just Wanted To Be Held By Me All The Time. I Put This Down To Him Leaving His Mummy And Familiar Surroundings.

He Settled In Fairly Quickly And His Own Little Personality Developed - But He Is Still A Cuddle Bug, And Prefers To Sleep In My Arms Than Anywhere Else, Though He Loves To Be With My Husband And Daughter Too. He Is Friendly With Other People But Doesnt Like To Be Held By Anyone Else Really - Much To The Annoyance Of My Mil, Who Just Wants To Cuddle Him - No Chance Lol!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy Your Baby Mia - A Lovely Name For Your Baby.

Congratulations!! I am so happy for you. I've been thinking about you all day wondering if you decided to go back and get your little girl. It's so great that you were able to find a baby that you are more comfortable with. Like everyone has mentioned, give her some time to adjust to her new surroundings. I'd also hold off on changing her diet until she's had a chance to settle in.

I can't wait to see pictures! BTW, Tia is an adorable name!

I think it is awesome that you had that "special" time to bond on the road trip home.

She sounds so special.
I think dry food is the way to go. You do not have to worry about it spoiling.
And it is good for the teeth.

Thank you guys sooooo much; I really feel like part of the family. I am so overwhelmed and honoured to have Tia as my baby she is perfect; im in love with her already. Just now as I was cooking she was waiting at the kitchen door for me to finish as soon as I did and sat down on the sofa (couch) she fell asleep on my feet lol; when I went to get a drink she waited for me by the door again; then laid down on my feet when I came back.

Shes about 85% potty/ paper trained, I think thats amazing

she doesn't have many accidents only when she's nervous or when she's not familar with the surrounds set up. I am going to try and see how I can post some pics

Thanks... I've been waiting for more than 6 months to find the right pup; Tia seemingly fell out of heaven and came to me; I'm in total AWE lol
