| A question (??) When you bought your puppy did your breeder let you make payments and let you take your puppy home? Or did you have to pay for your puppy 1st before you got your puppy? Is there anyone on here who let their pups go on a payment plan??? or anyone who was able to make payments?? I dont know of anyone who has done this or is willing to do this....

| Our breeder let us give her a post dated check for the 2nd portion of our second portion of our puppies payment and we took her home. We had already bought one yorkie from her and she trusted us

| i would think if you were going to do that you should get all the money before the pup goes.. other wise.. you probably won't see the rest of your money. When i got my Biewer.. i paid half when he was like 4 weeks.. then i paid the other half a week before he was ready to be sent here!

| We had Gizmo paid in full before we brought him home. I made payments every couple of weeks and visited with him until he was ready to come home, but the final payment was made before we took him home. I know some breeders who won't even hold your pup for you without payment in full, much less take him home.

| I can't imagine many breeders letting you take home a puppy before you fully pay for it. I mean once people have the puppy, they may never finish paying for it...and then it's hard on the puppy to be taken back by the breeder. Plus, if I ws a breeder and someone couldn't afford to pay the cost of the puppy, I'd be afraid they couldn't afford to care for the puppy. Dogs are expensive, especially when you first get them. And accidents/emergencies can arise and can potentially cost a lot of money.

| For both A.J and KaCee, I had to put a deposit down when I first picked them out and then I had to pay in full on the day I took them home.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I wasn't required to put down a payment for Ramsey...I paid for her in full when I picked her up. Reese was a gift. I don't know of any breeder who would accept payments....unless they knew you personally.

YT 2000 Club Member | Jeter's breeder let us put a deposit down, we put $400 down for him then when we visited again we asked if we could put more down on him, so we did. The day we brought him home we paid the remaining balance off. I have never heard of breeders letting buyers take the puppy home before they have paid in full. But some breeders do let you make a payment every so many weeks till they are paid for and able to go home.( I hope that made sense to you.)
