I can't imagine many breeders letting you take home a puppy before you fully pay for it. I mean once people have the puppy, they may never finish paying for it...and then it's hard on the puppy to be taken back by the breeder. Plus, if I ws a breeder and someone couldn't afford to pay the cost of the puppy, I'd be afraid they couldn't afford to care for the puppy. Dogs are expensive, especially when you first get them. And accidents/emergencies can arise and can potentially cost a lot of money.

Purchasing from backyard breeders, pet shops, and puppymills perpetuates the suffering of other dogs.
Educate yourself and buy from reputable breeders or rescue.
