| Topknots What is everyone doing with their furbaby's topknot? Sadie's is long, but her hair is fine so it always flops over into her eyes. She has a clip as well as a barrette. Is it proper to cut the topknot shorter so it just sticks up, or would this look goofy? I love her topknot, but it bugs me when it hangs near her food when she eats, etc. If I double the knot, and then put a barrette in it, it still falls out. Any tips are most appreciated. Thanks.

| Toto has a shorter topknot. Here's his picture. I think the short topknots are cute and his stays up really good.

| What are you using on his topknot? Is that a rubberband or barette or what? It really is cute on him. |

| They are stretch pony tail holders that are real small that can be found in the baby department of any store. There is no rubber band in them and they do not break the hair. They are like chinelle (sp) and they are great. Most of the time I only have to put his top knot up once a day, if he doesn't take a silly spell and rub his head on everything.

| I tried those on Zada who has the silky coat and they don't work unless I use a rubber band first. She will then scratch her head and then one eye will be covered with hair. It's a constant thing trying to keep her hair out of her eyes and is why one of the pictures of her in my avatar shows her after I just gave up and cut her short. She's long again now though and now it's worse than ever since I have a new little Yorkie girl who love to pull on both her and Azraels top-knot. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | It ok to cut the topknot, but you might want to try this first. You create the topknot, and then an inch above that put in another band, and bend over to make second band meet first and put a third band around them both. This enables the long part of topknot to hang away from the face, more like a show dog. Complete instructions are on this website, a little more than half way down. http://www.shooterdog.com/alexfaq3.htm

| My boys actually have 'eyebrows' cut, they do not wear topknots, they won't keep them in! I think its adorable but I guess its not up to me! haha
