				   | Has anyone had a yorkie that licks at night? My yorkie only licks at night when we are ready to go to bed. She licks her blanket to the point where it is wet. I just noticed today that she was licking the air and would not stop during the day, but this is the first time that I have ever seen her do this. How can this be stopped? |

| Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Magic does this as well...LOL She licks her paws at night until she puts herself to sleep almost everynight just by licking her front paws. We have tried different things to stop her but nothing helps so we just let her do b/c it works for her! Sailor tends to the lick the carpet more at night than during the day...this has just started happening (it could be b/c we put her on a diet)!!! LOL

				   | Yes Chloe licks everything. There is always a wet spot and I have to smell it half asleep to make sure she didn't pee. |

				   | OMy! I don't know if it makes it better or worse to know it's so common. Coby doesn't do it too much, but Reggie (my Shih Tzu) is notorious at night. There is little that keeps me awake more than the sound that a dog tongue on either fabric or paws makes. UGH!! Reggie does know what "No Licking" means tho.

				   | My old dog, a terrier mix, had so many health problems. One of them being allergies. Until we found the right food for her, she would like her paws until they were raw or lick the blanket...just about anything. I highly recommend switching foods to see if it controls it. Since they can't tell you when they are itchy or irritatied by a food allergy you have to basically read between the lines. Unfortunately, it took us until she was almost a year and a half to figure it all out. The only thing she could stomach was lamb and rice formula science diet.
