My Phyllis also licks the air. She does this when someone new comes in the house. She will sit down and look at them and just lick, lick, lick the air. She also does this when we go to bed. She lays on top of my husbands belly and looks at me and licks the air or lays on me and looks at him and licks the air. She will do this for about 20 mins then will burp then lays down and goes to sleep. She has been doing this since Aug. I have no idea why she does this..At first I thought she had a wild wisker that she could see but now I think she is just licking the smell of us in the air..wish she would stop but I guess I would rather have her do this then itching her skin all the time..If you find out why they do this or how to get them to stop let me know.
