| Chachi was supposed to be 5 lbs he is 11. Jewels was supposed to be 3 lbs she is 6. They were both tiny when I brought them home 1 lb and 12 oz so you never really absolutely know how big they are going to get

| I paid $500 for Boomer. He weighs 4 lbs at 5 1/2 months old. Hopefully he will gain another pound or two. And did I mention he's perfectly perfect?

| i happily paid $1500 for my Cricket,,she was 16 ounces of 12 week old joy when i finally got to bring her home!! and she is now just over 2 yrs and 4 pounds,, of which about a pound now is FAT! Trixie was $1500 (but no charge to us, as she is a replacement for Daisy) who we bought to breed later on,, ended up having Demodectic mange so now she is also spayed,, as is Cricket,,she's too tiny to attempt babies.. Daisy is now 9.5 pounds where the breeder thought she'd be between 6 & 7,, Trixie,, is currently 19 weeks and 4 pounds,, so,, i'm thinking she'll be more around 5.5 to 6 lbs adult weight,, more "normal" size,,,, I waited 30 yrs to get the dog i wanted,, the argued with myself for some time before deciding i was worth it!!! and bought her i did!! i figure,, $1500,, at 100 a year (hopefully at least that long),, will be a GREAT Entertainment value,, not to mention all the love and affection that money can't buy!! as for $400 and $600 etc. Yorkies,, i've not run across any,, i'm glad someone lucked out ,, i certainly feel like i did,, i searched for 3 yrs before deciding,,and found Yorkie pups from $1000 to $10,000 for 12 to 16 week old pups,, so i think i chose well,, love my girls ALL!!!

| Both my little men were $800.00. There weight was estimated based on the fact the mother was 6.5 lbs and one dad was 7.1 lbs and the other 5+ lbs I was told to really look at the parents, both weight, color, build, teeth to know what your puppy will look like once full grown. I was almost bambuzzled into paying $2,500 for an 11 month old that weighed 1.9 lbs. I am happy to report that before making the leap I checked with my local vet, logged onto this site, and bought the yorkie breed standard book which indiciates you should not be charged more and that even though the standard is less than 7lbs a yorkie under 2 lbs can have health problems and be harder to treat based on their size.

| I think $1300 is average for a regular size yorkie. Tinies tend to be much more.

I was also wondering where these others were getting Yorkies for such "low" prices.

| You were taken. If she took the extra $1,300 because the dog was going to remain tiny (guaranteed) and it didn't, she should return the money. You weren't paying extra for the fun of it. Did you get the guarantee in writing?

| I'm not complaining one bit here. I got Little Man for FREE, but it did cost me gas to go to Missouri to get him and plus headaches from the family. It was sooooooo worth it. He is 8 1/2 weeks and weighs in at 3.75lbs. Vet said he was overweight by 1lb. With him being a puppy I'm not so much worried about him being overweight by 1lb. because I know he will grow out of that. He's been more active and not napping so much in the last 2 to 3 days, since I have been cooking his food for him. But anyways, I've researched in my area for yorkies to be priced around $600 - $3,000. The higher price is for the tiny yorkies, if that helps.

| The thing is...if a breeder is breeding that small of dogs on purpose and charging that much more because it will stay 1lb smaller, they most likely aren't reputable and are just out for money. Since they have the money, it's going to be hard to get it back. I bet their guarantee isn't a refund either...probably that the puppy has to be returned in exchange for a new one...and obviously the OP wouldn't do that. Unfortunately, there are a lot of dishonest people selling dogs

That's why I think she was taken. The only chance she's got is if she has it in writing that the money would be refunded and even then it could be a fight to get it back.
