| I have 5 so bear with me a little bit. LOL First was Pirogue. My hubby had bought a Johnny Horton cd and there is one song on it that I love. "I've got a hole in my Pirogue". It's kind of a cajun song. Anyway I'd press the repeat and listen to it until it drove everyone crazy. We were listening to it as we were driving up to see some puppies. I had planned on getting a girl. The lady only had 2 little boys for sale and neither one was very out going. The gate to the kennel run was left open and they kept running back inside. I don't remember why I chose the one I did now. On the way home I was listening to the song again and decided his name would be Pirogue and when I got a girl she would be called Cajalina. Next was Lady Galahad. We were in Little Rock, AR for a dr's appt at the big VA hospital and were looking in the paper to see what Yorkies might be for sale in that area. We found a lady with 2 little girls about 6 months old half way back up state. Her name was supposed to be Cajalina but she wasn't that type. What type? I don't know, she just didn't seem like a cajun. So we batted a few names around and hubby came up with the idea of the dog that looks like a Yorkie in the movie Labrynth. At first he thot the name was Ambrosius(sp) but I knew it was Sir something or other. The name that popped out of my mouth was Sir Galahad and it stuck. Later I remembered the name was Sir Lancelot. We just call her Lady, and she is. Next was Autumn. I went to look at 2 little girls. Really, I just went to LOOK! We were in Ar again and there's a road we always pass, Mist something or something Mist. I wanted to use it but couldn't think of anything that sounded right. I like the word Arbor but then I realized that Arbor Mist might be copyrighted and didn't want to run into any trouble over that, but wouldn't Arbor Mist make a beautiful name for a Yorkie? So, Autumn was the time of year and Autumn Mist just didn't have the same sound as Arbor Mist and we came up with Autumn Rose. It didn't quite fit but it stuck. Mr. Big, now... His registered name will be(when I get around to sending in the papers) "You Can Call Me Mr. Big". Yeah, it all fits in the boxes on the form, it even leaves a few. LOL We knew we wanted a small male, Pirogue was at or over 8# buy then, almost 9 I think. (4 months ago) We were hoping by getting a 5th generation small that he would stay small(so far so good, fingers crossed) and we wanted a big name for such a small dog. Gargantuan? I think not! Hubby's idea. And then something from Greek mythology, don't remember now. Nope! Then I remembered from Lion King, Pumba saying "You can call me Mr. Pig". Hubby thot I said Mr. Tibbs, from that movie "Heat of the Night". So we changed it a bit and he became Mr. Big. We were going to call him Yucan but "you can" is such a big part of our vocabulary that he was confused, poor baby, couldn't have that. LOL Lacijo is our unexpected baby. She is Mr. Big's half sister and we got talked into taking her when we made the last pmt on Mr. Big. Her registered name is from a helper at the kennel. "Myah's Asia Girl", I'm not sure but I think it's from a Billy Idol song. The breeder called her Spidy Woman and said she didn't really answer to anything. The breeder had cut her coat way back, twice and while I was holding her I decide she looked lacy, and the name Lacijo just popped into my head and out of my mouth. It's sort of an elegant name and it seems to fit her. She seems to think she's royal so I call her our little princess. My first dog I wanted to be a girl and have her a while before we got a male so she would be in her second heat when he was old enough to breed. Pirogue was 8 weeks when we got him. A month later when we found Lady I was beginning to worry that I wouldn't find a girl older than Pirogue and was kind of desperate. We bought Pirogue for $450 and he is around 10#. Lady was $600 and her living conditions were not the best. I would not recommend her breeder to anyone. Now, Pirogue would be a champion show dog if it weren't for his ears flop, he weighs 10#, his coat is short and very light colored. His good points are he holds his tail erect and always has, his top line is excellent and his body structure is beautiful. He's my 10# bag of sugar. Lady has bad knees and I know nothing about her background as I was not knowledgeable enough to ask. I have paid more for Autumn and more for Mr. Big and even more for Lacijo. I bought Pirogue in June of last year and Mr. Big and Lacijo the last week of March of this year. Let me say this, as much as I love Pirogue -- YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. No offense meant to anyone, I love all my babies but my better dogs I paid much more for. Sylvia |

| Well, before we had even got Shelby we picked out the name Daytona because my boyfriend races cars. Well right after we got Shelby we brought her over to a friends house and no one like that name, they said it didn't suit her and so on and so forth. So, that gave me some doubt and we weren't really certain about it in the first place so when we got home, my boyfriends mom printed off a list of name and checked the ones she liked, but out of the whole list I didn't like any of them. I wanted the name to mean something so I thought about it and I came up with Shelby because we had just drove to Shelbyville to get her from her breeder who lived there. I am happy with it because it reminds me of where she came from and the first time I saw her. |

| All of my kids had to have unique names. The deal was, if I brought them home, my husband had to name them. Bailey - On our way to pick her up we started with A's then B's and that's where we stopped. Ulla - After his german aunt Ulla Freya - The Norse goddess of love, beauty & war Mr. Big - Sex & The City!! When my husband grows up, he want to be Mr. Big! Boy - We found Boy, and in the beginning it was 'come boy, here boy' and it stuck. I do like to call him Bouy (the gangsta pronounciation) cuz he came from the streets Abby - I actually got to pick this one. I just loved the name. It's such a little girls name.

| my baby is Ceeby. pronounced SEABEE. When my now-grown son was three or four years old, he had an imaginary friend named Ceeby. Man, the tales he could tell about him and Ceeby. They were so funny. That just seemed like a good name. I thought of Rambo then decided it wasn't very original and there are several Rambos on here. Also, at nine ounces, he just didn't look like a Rambo to me. |

| When we were looking for breeders... I knew that we were going to try to find a little boy. I went looking for name with great meanings. A big name for a little dog. It was actually a toss up between Truman which means a man's true friend or Winston which means victory place. I liked the thought of naming my baby boy after Sir Winston Churchill. Winston full registered name is "Sir Winston of Kirkman Court". We live on Kirkman Court. |

| our 1st 2 (Maxwell & Sophie) were rescued dogs so they came w/their names. our 3rd (Frankie) has a 1st name that reflects the breeder's name from where she came. (it was an agreement in the contract.) her second name "Frankie" simply fits her. ...a little tomboy. Last edited by Funky Chicken; 10-19-2005 at 06:43 AM. |

| I had Princess pick out years before I even had Princess. I just knew someday I would have a Yorkie, and I would name her Princess. When I found her I knew she was the one. Now as far as her AKC name, I had nothing to do with it. Princess would tear up paper, all over the house. It was a everyday thing. ( I'm so glad she stopped!) But we had a mess every day. Any way, I filled out her AKC papers with her name Princess, and our son found them, and after Princess tore up his term paper, he added Pig Pen! So her AKC name is Princess Pig Pen!!!!! Kids & Yorkies! Gotta Love Them!

| Mother: Lil Ms. Bambi 5 pounds AKC Yorkie Father: Itsy Bug 3 pounds Yorkie/Chihuahua (long-haired) Looks and acts just like the Yorkies I had many years ago. Her coloring and temperment is the same. Not much chihuahua in looks or actions. She is a "Chorkie" So we decided to call her Bitsy-- taking the B from the mom and adding the Itsy from the dad. Not so bitsy though. She now weighs 8.5 pounds at 7.5 months. Quite a Daddy's girl. |

| when we picked up Edgar, his name was Dash. (the breeder said he had a "dash" of white under his chin when he was born) i didn't really want to call him that and wanted something more traditional and British for both his heritage and mine. we went thru a few names including Oliver and Winston (yep, my husband and freakin' history channel--Churchill) but when i said "Edgar" he looked at me like, "What?? I'm snuggling here!" and that was it. Ganja's (our lab) name is from my husband's teen years (we're 28 now) and apparently she had a nose and would run off with the uh...goods. I think now he wishes he'd thought about it more |
