| ![]() It's unbelievable how some people have no concept of things like this. I was looking around in the online classifieds for people local to my area selling yorkies and seeing what was there. Believe me, I've done all my research and I realize what the costs are (I'm still a yorkie owner-to-be) with purchasing a healthy puppy and the year-to-year costs. So I will see a few "Want Ads" nestled in between the sale ads of people begging for a "cheap" yorkie. I'm thinking since when was a yorkie an object to be obtained?? If all you could afford was $50-$300 period for a purebred puppy, how in the heck are you going to care for them and provide them with proper vet care? Anyway, just my ![]() |

| ![]() I guess I'm not as easily shocked ... barter has a long history and usually works out well for both parties. I once bartered a stained glass window to a vet for surgical fees for a rescue. I gave up about $50 in glass and my time in return for amputation of her damaged leg and spaying. Both of us got what we needed. I can understand being amused/put off by the folks who want the "deep discounts" and prey on your pity. But unless you need the money from the sale of the pup to buy your groceries for the next month or pay the electric bill, perhaps the trade of a car they don't need, or a diamond ring could be a good thing for you, too. Maybe Dad shouldn't be driving anymore, but a puppy would make a nice companion to fill the time? You never know unless you ask ... |

| ![]() If both parties get a good deal I don't see a problem w/ it either. I mean I need a privacy fence put up and w/ my husband's titanium leg it won't be easy for us and we can't afford not to do it ourselves. So, if someone wanted to offer their services (which would easily be worth more than I would sell a puppy for) I would do it in a heart beat. I mean does it matter if it is money or a service if it benifits both parties? Now as far as these crazy offers... I am right there w/ you and I would have told the lady what she could do w/ her pit...lol |

Oh, I totally agree.....I am a massage therapist, and barter all the time. If it works for both parties, it can be a great thing. Offering a trade for a Yorkie doesn't make me mad at all. I don't view it as people trying to get something cheaper, every time (except one) we have been offered trade for a Yorkie it has been with something of equal or greater monetary value. And the one time it wasn't, they really thought it was valuable. I just laugh to myself because some of the things offered are amusing. (Just as some of the things offered to trade for massage have been amusing) | |

| ![]() This is very strange!!! But speaking of "trades"....on Friday we listed out 41' motor coach home for sale on the internet....we have had three different people contact us asking us to see if we would consider a "trade". All three of them wanted to trade their HOME for our motor coach. One person sent tons of pictures of his home in TX ....we are in NC!! I think this is very strange!!! I guess some people are really into trading!!! I guess trading works for some people ....I just have never thought of it!!!
