My experience with this is that bile means an empty stomach, not necessarily an upset stomach. (My dog is a super picky eater and in the beginning it was difficult to get him to eat). I'm not sure if this is what happens with everyone else's Yorkies, but I didn't give him rice/chicken/cottage cheese/etc or medicine when he threw up bile, I just made sure he ate (however, actually vomit, I do follow the above suggested methods). Now I that I know this, my puppy never throws up bile anymore.

My Zoe did vomit bile and I did attribute it to her not eating her supper last night, she had loose stools this am. I tried the chicken/rice but she wants nothing to do with it. I've tried eggs which is her fav am food, but she snubbed that too. Very frustrating..I've tried everything, she played a bit this am and went for a walk with me, I thought maybe she would work up an appetite, but nope. I have given her zantac in the past, per the vet, but I don't think I could get her to take it now. Any suggestions appreciated, we are suppose to go away tomorrow too. 4 hr car ride. Thanks

This is exactly what happened to one of ours on a regular basis, my hubby give the girls "numnums" that is a small handful if kibble given to each one as soon as they wake up, kind of like breakfast in bed! Lol! But... None of them have any bile issues any more! Dogs stomachs have more acid than we do and need something in to curb the acid production. Try the numnum approach, I hope it works for you!

When my girls don't want to eat much and I need to make sure they do, I sprinkle a bit of parmesan on the food, for my girls it works like a charm. The cheese won't hurt them at all (unless they have a dietary restriction) and you don't need much, but boy! My girls go crazy for it and eat everything it touches! I only use this method on very rare occasion as I want them to see it as an extreme treat Good luck with your little one!!!!

I give my little girl a 1/4 tablet of Pepcid whenever she vomits bile. It's very tiny, and if need be, you can crush it and put it in a syringe with water. Please check with your vet first, though. If you can get her to eat a tiny amount before bed, it might prevent the bile in the morning. I can usually get Katie to eat a little baby food, but it doesn't always work. I hope Zoe gets better quickly and that you enjoy your trip.

My vet said I shouldn't feed my mini yorkie anything but dog food and that it ruins their teeth , and I love to feed my yorkie fruits and home made food but he was so strict ..what do you think ??

Best thing I have ever found is feeding them a baby spoon of organic pumpkin. It comes in a can and is at most any store where you get the pie filling one. Just make sure it is the organic with nothing added. What's great about it is no chemicals like meds have, helps upset tummies, helps the runs and also gets rid of constipation. Basically it balances out their whole digestive system and its all natural :-) Hope this helps.
