| out again! Ahia got out the door again. This was when i was not home. my husband took Buckeye out to potty and she slipped out the door when he was comming back in. he didn't know what to do. so he tied buckeye to a tree! (many many times i have told him not to do that, makes me so mad!!) any how he went in search for Ahia. she is afraid of the dark other wise i don't think she would have came back so soon. he went behind one of the houses here that has a pit bull tied up, thinking she was back there. (the pit bull was barking). He said he was scared that he couldn't find her. came back home to put buckeye in the house and found Ahia sitting there with Buckeye. i am thinking about putting in one of those underground fences. any of you all got those? buckeye will sit there and look out even if the door is left open. but not her if it opens just a tiny bit ...she is out in a blink.

| We have an electric collar for one of our non-yorkie dogs, and the instructions said not to use on a dog smaller than 7 lbs. I know they work well, as many people around here have them, but I've only seen them on big dogs. The underground fence and wire fence things are both based on zapping the dog if he gets past your boundary: it's a shock collar -- don't let the labels fool you. "Tingling sensation" is what ours said. Never said shock anywhere in the instructions. (We knew when we bought it that it was a shock collar ... ) Anyway, I would be afraid to put any ANY collar on a yorkie -- especially seeing Dean's neck is, like, as small as a newborn baby's wrist. Now, on our 30 lb terrier mix, it's like tapping him on the head to get his attention w/the collar b/c he's so wild. So, unless they have one that only emits noise or vibrates, I would say no way! |

| I got a runner too, RUDY, he off and no turning back. Now before I open the front door I pick him up and the door going to the garage I make sure I don't open it till the garage door is down. Maybe try putting a baby gate at that door, I got a neat at Walmart, and you put two eye hooks in the wall and then it will swing out of the way or it will retract. Will try to post a pic of it. Last time Rudy got out I was so lucky he didn't get hit, I Rudy proofed all my exits. Rudy is a brat lol. Maddie is like Buckeye she will just sit there......................Cindy |

| that would be a better idea. i did get a baby gate (cheap kind) around halloween time and i move it from room to room where ever it is needed. but my husband won't take the time to put it up. i need one that i can just swing open or retract open like you said. i crushed and killed a pup poodle about 15 yrs ago with the garage door so i am very very cautious with that area. plus i don't let either of these 2 in the garage due to too many hazardous things there. I keep 20 mule team borax scattered about in the garage to kill those darn roaches they have in this area. Last thing I need is for one of them to eat that stuff. so the garage is off limits totally.

| LDenise, I posted earlier about the gate and my niece said I got it at Target, it was a little more than the other gates, but I would bust my butt everytime I tried to jump over them. This one is made by evenflo and expands and can totally flip around so the door opening is totally open. It has worked out well for me because I hate gates up and when I am home it is out of site. I don't know what make one want to run and the other one doesn't. It just goes to show how diffrent there personalities are. Good luck with your runner, for being so little they can sure run fast...........................Cindy |

| toby has bolted for the door yet, but man, when he runs around the apartment it is HILARIOUS!!!! He flattens his ears closer to his head and lowers his head, i guess to make himself more "aerodinamic", it is really funny, especially when he does hot laps |
