Thanks Anne! Capone needs all the prayers and well wishes that he can get right now! If we can't come to some kind of agreement, then I'll have not choice but to take legal action. She sold me a sick puppy and said that he was healthy...thank god I live in florida, so I'm protected by law. My only option can't be just giving the puppy back. If she works with us and gives us some of our money back, then I won't have to take action and report her to take her to court. My BF is calling her today for me...I worte him a nice long speech to tell her...and we're gonna give her til friday to think about it. I even said that we could take him to her vet if she felt she wanted to get a second opinion on his heart murmur.

| ![]() be careful of taking her to small claims court. A friend of mine did that with her corgie and the judge ruled that the breeder pay all the vet bills and refund the money for the puppy then ruled that the puppy be returned to the breeder. I have no clue how the laws are in FL I am sorry you are going through this. I bet Capone will outgrow this ![]() |

http://www.animallaw.info/statutes/s..._01_29.htm#s29 Claiming not to have the money for his vet bills is no excuse. By law she must reimburse you for up to his full price in vet bills. Florida has excellent puppy lemon laws. Here's an overview: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/pets/lemon_fl.html

| ![]() Now this is what I'm talkin' about! I took the part below from the FL Lemon Law: The law provides for replacement plus reimbursement for veterinary expenses related to certifying the illness, up to the price of the dog. If a dog is proven ill or defect, consumers may demand a refund or replacement plus reimbursement of veterinary expenses up to the price of the dog. ![]() ![]() ![]()

| ![]() Does anyone happen to know how I can find info about the FL Lemon Law in spanish? The breeder speaks spanish, so it's easier if someone doesn't have to translate it. Thanks guys! I really do apreciate all of the help and support! UPDATE:: I spoke to the vet this morning and he said that he doesn't think the murmur is a serious one at the moment....he's hoping it will be gone within a month or so. He said we will moniter it again on my next visit..Tuesday 2/26 ![]()

As far as a Spanish translation, I think *every*thing legal in this state is done bilingual. I just don't know where to find it. Perhaps the "home" page offers the choice of English or ???? Both of my pups came with health certificates. Plus, I was given a 1 year warranty on life-threatening defects. The caveat was that I had to take the pup(s) to my vet within 3 business days and report back any issues. Puddin' and Isabella came from different breeders, both from the Brooksville area.

http://www.doacs.state.fl.us/ai/main/pet_main.shtml There are three options...but I think the two you listed above mean you would return Capone to her. The third option is you sign a waiver to keep him but she reimburses you for the vet expenses you've already paid...but none beyond that. It's a great service for pet buyers, but it is limited to people selling 2 litters a year or 20 dogs. do you know how often she has puppies? Good luck!

| ![]() I imagine this is what your vet thinks your boy has. Since he has chosen to wait and recheck. If he was hearing a more significant murmur you would have been referred to a specialist. Innocent, flow murmurs. These murmurs are caused by normal turbulent blood flowing across heart valves of young dogs. These low-grade murmurs (less than a grade 2) decrease with age as the heart matures and are not associated with congenital heart disease. The vet will do a recheck in 4 weeks to see if he/she can still hear a murmur. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
