| I think anything over $3000 is getting rediculous for a puppy being sold as a pet. And even then, I would only pay $1000-$3000 for a pet puppy from a reputable show breeder that health screens all their dogs, is breeding for the right reasons, and is selling me a top quality pet. Otherwise, there is no way I'd pay even several hundred or a thousand dollars to buy from a byb breeding for the wrong reasons (especially if they aren't health screening their dogs). I've seen show quality dogs (meant for show/breeding) sold for $5000plus but I don't know any reputable breeder that charges more than $3000 for their pet puppies (and most charge way less than that). I know people that have bought pets from some of the best show breeders around for less than $2000 (and some for less than $1000). Just because a dog costs thousands of dollars doesn't automatically mean quality...a lot of petstores and bybs are charging way more than show breeders and that's rediculous. I've personally only seen two breeders charging $5000plus for their pets and I wouldn't buy from either one (not just because of their price but because I don't think they are reputable breeders) and I've seen a lot of ads on puppyfind (most are scams and bybs). Definitely point your friend to www.ytca.org Most of the breeders there *should* be ethical and I highly doubt you'll see any charging $5000 for their puppies.

| What makes me sad is that some people see outrageously priced yorkies online($5,000, $7,500 +) and think that they should be able to sell theirs for that too. They don't realize it's not a good thing to charge that much! I was going to buy a puppy from a local lady but she raised the price to an un-Godly amount because "people online get that much". I don't think greedy people realize that they are not only benefitting themselves with a large price tag but hurting others by raising the prices higher and higher. Every pet I've owned has been worth what I paid and more but sadly, if prices keep going up and up I'll never be able to afford another dog in my lifetime. My sister went to rescue a dog at the dog pound and with fees and stuff it came to $110. So not only are pet quality dogs over priced but now saving an unwanted pet is getting so costly that many can't afford to do that either. Just sad all around.

| Well, some people don't care what they pay. If she doesn't ask if it is too much I wouldn't tell her what to do. Leave the cheaper ones for the rest of us. You can tell her once and then watch her ignore you because she thinks she is getting a teacup for that price! |

| YT Addict | It is an outrageous price for a pet quality puppy!! Time and time again I've seen breeders charge $5000 to even $10,000 for a pet pup. I've even seen YT breeders charging these prices!! When you look into things a bit more, most of the time, the puppy they are selling was bred to be "tiny". It's sad... The best recommendation: contact a YTCA breeder. A close friend of mine, was able to purchase a pet quality pup from a show breeder in Georgia two weeks ago... it only cost her $900 AND a lifetime of no worries!

| Yes! That is way too much! The most we have payed for a yorkie is $1,500. She is only 2 pounds and I think that if the breeder would have known that if that was how big she would be then she would have doubled the price! |

| I have mixed feelings, because to me Winston is priceless. I did not pay that much for him as a pup...but he is well worth every penny I spent and then some.
