| I just wanted to say that when I told my husband that I wanted another dog (we already had a boxer), I wanted a small dog that I can hold but large enough to handle our 80 pound boxer and 3 children under 7. I told him that I like the look of the Yorkie but thought they are too small. I thought a Silkie Terrier would be a better fit for our family. Well, he surprised me with a yorkie. He could not find a Silkie breeder, found a yorkie breeder who had a puppy he thought might be larger. Snickers is 9.5 lbs and under a year old, might still be growing. So anyway I think that yorkies and silkies are very much alike small, cute, and Terriers. |

Since Baby is larger and has a silky coat, people ask me if she's a Silky b/c she's not a "teacup."

| They used to be "Sidney Silkies" from Australia. My first Samson, the product of champeon Yorkies, grew and grew so big that many asked if he was a Silky. No matter, both are wonderful! Silkies simply give you more to love ENJOY! |

There really is a noticable difference in a yorkie and silky - when you compare a yorkie breed to standard and a silky breed to standard. I know if I was to post a picture of Magic (yorkie) next to a Frankie or Captain (silkies)....you would really notice the difference. Maybe it is easier for me since I have both........BUT they do look very, very similar when they are little puppies!!

Actually come to think of it, Quincy's dad is smaller than all of the breeder's Yorkies. | |

| I have a Silky Terrier and a Yorki, both are beautiful pups. The Silky is a little more low key than the Yorki, which I hate to admit is a real treat at times. Enjoy your new pup, I'm sure you will love him just the same |
