| How did you train your baby to be quiet in the bag? How did you train him/her to be quiet while in a carrier? Just curious |

| Lacy has just always been really good about it. I started her out young...as soon as I got her. I took her almost everywhere with me that I could...either carrying her in my arms or in her carrier. She can be such a wild child at home sometimes but is always calm and quiet when we go out (as long as other dogs aren't around). Everyone always thinks she is SO perfect..but they should see her at home I've snuck her in quite a few places before and luckily she's always been real quiet. Only once did she make a sound...I was sitting on the patio of a restaurant with her in her bag...there were birds flying everywhere and she started barking at them. i guess just try to start young and take your baby as many places as you can. Some dogs may not have the personality to be quiet and still in a bag no matter how hard you try...but most will probably learn to be still and quiet

YT 2000 Club Member | Jeter is still real young, he is only 4 months old but I started to put him in his purse the first week I got him home. I live by his Vet office so I walked him over in his carrier just to get him use to it. I also took him a to a few church and school visits when I had to pick up things for my kids. My husband even took him to the hardware store, but had him in his arms By the time he got all his puppy shots and I could take him into pet stores and other places, he just is used to his purse when inside it that he is super Quiet. He is good when carried in open arms too, he wants all attention on him and enjoy's getting petted by children and adults

| Franklin goes crazy in his bag when I'm not carrying it, but if it's on my shoulder, he just quietly sits and stares. He's surprisingly really good about it. I once made the mistake of trying to take him on a long car ride in his carrier. He barked and fought his way out of it the WHOLE time. So... now we use the travel crate in the car and then if he needs to go in with me, he gets to ride in the carrier. He also especially enjoys trips out because I always treat him when he goes in the bag.

| Coco won't stay in the bag I have at all so I don't know how she would be. I need to get a new one, she can get her head through a loop in the one I have. Bella is a little wiggly to get in there but once she is in it she is laying down and happy... not a peep is heard.

| I can put my baby's bag on the floor. She will run & get it in----ready to GO. She is super good when I take her in it. I started putting her in it & taking her with me when I first got her. She is 14 months old & loves the hot pink carrier. |

| Like the OP, I started out right away. He's very sensitive and was a nervous wreck when I first brought him home, so I put him in a hobo style purse so I could carry him around the house with me and help to comfort him in his new environment. I think because if that, he sees the purse a source of comfort. Do everything you can to make it a good experience. Use treats ect. Start out at the house and get him used to it and let him protest there. That way it won't matter if he throws a tantrum and makes alot of noise.I think its alot like getting them used to the crate. Mine is fine if I carry him, but doesn't really like it when I put him down. We're working on that one. He's getting better. |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | I started London out when she was real young, at 10 weeks and she loves to be in it when i walk around but it's truw what Myfairlacy said, some just don't have the personality for it. Teddy surely doesn't! I tried training him to like being in a carrier since i got him at 10 wks also but he just never liked them. He is always wanting to run around, doesn't like being held or keep shut. lol Both my girls on the other hand will jump in the carrier as soon as i bring it out. Sophie got used to it when she saw London do it and now they both like it w/o a prob. Just try to start as young as possible and give treats when he stays in longer and longer.
