| I do not see the difference (except the size and damage that could be inflicted) of a pitbull attacking a pug or your yorkie biting a pitbull. A breed of dog should not be banned. Bad owners should not have dogs. I do not believe in dog parks either. If you do not take your dog to a place that like then there is less risk of the a dog getting hurt. Not everyone that takes their dog in public is responsible. We do not have dog parks around here. I work at a shelter and I can tell you smaller dogs are more likely to bite then bigger dogs. Bigger dogs just do more damage. What happens if they ban all the larger breeds? People will then start on the smaller ones. I have never met a human aggressive pitbull. Rottweilers, Shepherds, Chows and Cattledogs will bite people before a pitbull will. It is not the breed it is the owner! That is just my oppinion and the oppinion of most shelter workers and animal control officers that I know.

| That's awesome. I would have done the same thing. I saw a chihuaua jump strait off the ground and bite the lip of a 10 year old boy once. It was pretty gruesome, and totally unprovoked. The kid had a big nasty scar all through highschool, which is as long as I knew him.

| Difference being Chloe was attacking a dog who was attacking her playmate. Self defense. Chloe and the Pug where just playing, he jumped the fence to attack the Pug. Big difference can't compare the two. |

| Donating YT 11K Club Member | Wow I'm so glad Chloe is okay and i hope the pug recovers! Good thing you kicked him. I think i would have too! I am scared of big dogs i don't know, anytime someone is walking a big dog i walk away from it, cause i feel like they could all of a sudden snap and scare the crap out of me. They are unpredictable.

| While I totally agree that owners should be responsible for the behavior of their dogs, no matter what size or breed, I still would never ever take my dogs around a Pit Bull or any other breed that has a history of killing people. Until we can control owners, we need to control the dogs! No walk or play time at a dog park is worth risking my little dogs. I am very protective of them around any other dog, no matter what size or breed. I don't want them (or me) bitten by a Chihuahua or a Pit Bull or any other dog! |

| Thank God Chloe is all right! I'm so sorry for the pug, though. I hope that poor thing will be ok, too. I'm terrified of pittbulls. My son had several a few years ago. The first one was given to him because the owner had a new baby. I saw them constantly and could never be at ease with them. I don't trust them and my son ended up giving them away because he felt the same way. He was a cop at the time and had to face down aggressive dogs many times so they could be picked up by animal control. He felt then, and still does that pitts can't be trusted. Where I live, pitts are used as alarm systems for drug dealers. You see them all the time tied out in backyards. My elderly parents couldn't leave their house one time because the pitt next door escaped and stood by their door and wouldn't let them out and wouldn't go away. They had to call the police.

| The other day I was getting ready to walk Sophie and Rambo. Sophie is not friendly at all towards other dog even thought my dh says she's inlove with a pug. Got to see to believe. Anyway as a walked out the front of my house the neighbors really big dog wasn't even 10ft away no leash and Sophie went charging. I was able to restrain her but I just glared at the lady. SHe apologized and took her dog right in. He could have easily gotten aggravated that my dog barked at him and gone after her. If my dogs are small and I don't leave my house with them unless their on a leash. Why do people think that their so special that they can't show the same courtesy with big dogs? So glad and relived that everything is ok with Chloe. Also happy that your OK too. Trust me it could have been worse, recently there was a post about a dog being killed by two pits on a beach. It made the hairs on my arms stand up and I was nearly bawling. Here is the link remember it is very graphic please don't watch if your extremely sensitive. IT's just heart wrenching... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...hlight=pitbull

It's heartbreaking to watch. One more reason why the breed should be banned. Not fault of the breed but the owners of course, but it will kill it has. Hope they get her caught and punished. | |
