| I never knew anything about the plastic bowls being bad either. And I must have 40 of them b/c I use clean food dishes for my 2 cats in the morning (they have a SS water bowl) and a clean water dish for Max and a clean food dish in the morning and evening for him. They all get rinsed and put in the dishwasher after that. Max has a ceramic dish for his dry food, but maybe I should just use ceramic for everything. We have really hard water and I don't like the way it wears the SS bowls, so guess I'll have to invest in a bunch of ceramic ware now! Thanks for the heads up!

| Lixit bottles are those glass bottles (sometimes they're plastic too) with a ball bearing at the end of the metal spout that they use in rabbit or rodent cages a lot. The trick to them is finding one that doesn't drip contantly all over and wind up empty. I haven't figured that one out yet.

| How large of the glass do you use? I've bought both the plastic and glass ones (SMALL ones though) and they both dripped; I took them back and replaced them but they still dripped. I don't know if I was doing something wrong or what. I know the large glass bottles seem to work fine; maybe it's just the smaller ones?

Where do you put the water bottle? I guess I haven't seen them for dogs, only ones hanging on a cage, so I'm trying to picture where you could put it Do you think it would be just as good to use for cats too?

| I only know b/c I have a lot of beautiful crystal glasses and I used to use them all the time and a friend told me I shouldn't, so I researched it . Before that, I had used some crystal bowls for my cats so I knew I had to stop that also...such a disappointment . They looked so pretty .'Course, now, here I am, all upset over not being able to use all my plastic bowls, ROFL!
