the difference is in the quality of yorkies that are registered in them in my opinion and my opinion only. ACA, i think, stands for American Canine Association. AKC is the second oldest dog registry in the U.S. Second only to UKC. (United Kennel Club) but with more dogs registered in it than UKC. | |

| From what I know and have heard (I could be wrong) AKC is better than ACA. I hear akc is more repurtable and require more to register their puppies. And anyone can use aca its more for petshop, puppymills and people who are have been suspended from akc etc. Max is aca and I love every bit of his aca butt lol

| I routinely register dogs with both....AKC is a bit more strict about their registration requirements. However, as with any registry, there are always ways around everything. (I am honest in my registrations, but I have heard of many, many dishonest things that breeders do even in AKC registrations) In my personal opinion, the differences are the length of time they have been around, the level of support in activities such as showing, and it is harder to be dishonest with AKC. AKC is considered to be the more prominent registry, and in my opinion is the way to go if you ever plan to show. I have seen both very good and very bad examples of the breed in both registries, though, and so I feel that for a pet the registry should be the last consideration. JMO. |
