| My Willy used to do something like that too. His whole life he never put his face in his bowl to eat. It was always pulling the kibble out one at a time with his little paw and eating them one at a time. As he got older, he used to sort thru the pieces that were "unacceptable" and fling them across the floor. It was hysterical to watch! Here is the aftermath of his picky eating... |

| it's normal..Ginger (almost 6 mos) picks some out puts it on the floor and keeps digging in the bowl, until she finds the right piece(it's all the same)...but, somedays her and the other yorkie take about 5-6 pieces of food, and either lays it on the carpet and then eats one at a time, or they will take it to their beds and dump it out of their mouths in to their beds then eat it |

| Both Harmony and Allegro love playing with their food. They will take one piece of kibble and fling in the air and the pounce on and paw it and then after the decided they have "killed" the kibble they will eat it, lol. It is the funniest thing to watch. I think it is good in a way, it shows that they are getting fed enough that they want to play with their food. My cocker spaniel doesn't play with her food but takes forever to eat it. She will take two to three pieces of kibble in her mouth, walk over to her bed, sit down and drop the kibble on the ground. She then eats one kibble at a time and then goes back to the bowl and starts all over. It takes her about 30 minutes to an hour to eat a bowl of dog food. It these little antics that you learn to love and appreciate and will miss someday.

YT 2000 Club Member | Maggy May does this all the time to, I can't help but laugh at her. I mean, to see a 10 week old lil girlie sneak a bite and then run like she's trying to make the world laugh just cracks me up! She doesn't do it all the time, but boy when she does it's so funny! I love these lil puppy antics.

| [QUOTE=YorkieAunt;1712240]Tessa does this as well although she isn't in a pen. She will grap a bite and fling it in the air, then chase it after and swat it with her paw, then eat it and run over to the bowl and do it all over again.[/QUOTE Scooter does the same thing. I guess his Mama didn't teach him not to play with his food! |

It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | All of mine do this also. I just figured it was a Yorkie Thing. Just imagine four of them running back and forth with food.
