Both Harmony and Allegro love playing with their food. They will take one piece of kibble and fling in the air and the pounce on and paw it and then after the decided they have "killed" the kibble they will eat it, lol. It is the funniest thing to watch.
I think it is good in a way, it shows that they are getting fed enough that they want to play with their food.
My cocker spaniel doesn't play with her food but takes forever to eat it. She will take two to three pieces of kibble in her mouth, walk over to her bed, sit down and drop the kibble on the ground. She then eats one kibble at a time and then goes back to the bowl and starts all over. It takes her about 30 minutes to an hour to eat a bowl of dog food.
It these little antics that you learn to love and appreciate and will miss someday.
