| ![]() First off, I'm new here, so hello. I am considering a female Yorkie pup. Along the same line of this original post, I was wondering why most of the puppies I see advertised on-line already have names. They may or may not necessarily be the names the owners would have wanted. Why to the breeders do that, when the dog won't be there at long? Also, does the owner have to keep that name or can they change it? Funny sidenote: Years ago, I was dreaming of a female dog and I thought I great name for it would be "Jesse". I never went ahead with the dog. So now it's 10 years later and I could NOT for the life of me remember the name I had picked out. I was watching a TV show and decided that the next random female name on the show would be the name I used. Well, guess what, they introduce a character who's the daughter, and her name is -- JESSE. Must be fate, huh? |

| ![]() ^^ Yeah, I've seen puppies pre-named by breeders. I don't think it's set in stone or anything. It's just putting a name to the face kind of thing. And BTW, welcome to YT! As for me, yes, I have a list of names I started creating and I don't even know what the puppy will look like. I just have ideas for names I would like and hopefully it will make it easier for me to name her OR him, preferably her when I do get the puppy. Personality will certainly be factor and will help me narrow down my choices. |

| ![]() All the dogs I've had growing up and now have all been named before we got them. Sometimes they fit the name right away, other times it takes a while but it always ends up that it's like they've always been named that. We used to have a Scottish terrier, who we got at about six months. She was previously named Doris, but she didn't suit it and didn't respond to it. The previous owners (and breeders) did not mind us renaming her, so we called her Tess (the name we had been thinking of) and she suited it so well, and it didn't take her long to respond to it. |

| ![]() Yep! After the loss of Nicole, our 13 yr. old poodle, and six years of "don't you even mention another pet to me!" ...I never, ever intended to experience the pain of losing another pet as long as I lived. Patrick finally got me to look at pictures online of Yorkies. After a few months of studying and looking at all the sweet faces ... we decided to seriously begin looking! We didn't know if it would be a boy or girl but we knew without a doubt "it" would be named Toto! [It's a joke between us! ![]() ![]()

| ![]() I have 3 Biewers, and 2 yorkies. ALL but one was purchased online and all but one of those were shipped to me. ALL were pre-named on their breeders websites. I didn't keep one of those names. ![]() Most were named AFTER they were home with me. I like "unique" names and need to watch the pup for a day or so before bestowing them with a name befitting a life time. : ) |

| ![]() Sam was a Cody when I saw him for sale. Kim was nice enough to change his name when I let her know I was going to call him Sam and started calling him Sam before I picked him up. I loved the name Samuel Kirby or Nathaniel Kirby. I guess my next lil boy will be Nate! Of course I want a girl so her name will be Sophie Izzie Bella. ![]()
