Did anyone name their baby before they brought them home?

I named Norma Jean before I even saw her........she was purchased by my Mom and Dad (with my $ - but they found a breeder where they live and picked her up for me).....but I already knew her name was Norma Jean.

Just like if I get a boy, his name will be James Dean.....

I tried, but my fiance hates baseball and the Yankees (since I love them so much) so Jeter, Torre, Melky, Cano, Mo, and Joba (<<< how great is this kid by the way?!) were all nixed before I even suggested them. Ughhh. I guess next puppy we get I will have to be more sneaky about it all....

I had a name for my baby before I met him. I made a whole list of nice names that I like. Me and my boyfriend agreed on Maxi and when we found him he totally matched his name. So I defenately got lucky. If you cant decide on a name make a list and when you look at her and see her personality one of those names should fit By the way I love name Gia. In fact its in my girl names list when I ll get a another yorkie

well,, I waited like 30 yrs to get my first Yorkie (had to get kids all grown) lol,, and i had a name all picked out,, which flew straight out the window when i got to meet my "Cricket",, i'd talked with the breeder for several years,, til i finally decided i was ready,, then waited on the specific breeding pair to hit on what i wanted,, so i waited for all those years,, then waited thru the breeding and pregancy,,then when the pups were born,, i had pneumonia and couldnt go visit em to pick mine out of the litter,, but the breeder KNEW what i wanted,, so she picked out the 2 little girls for me to choose from,,,and when i finally got well enough to go visit,, i did,, and spent several hours,, visiting,, talking,, and watching,, until finally my sister in law who had gone with me,, asked if i were just taking them both, lol, NOPE!! I'm taking THIS one,, and the breeder was so excited,, saying she just KNEW I would, ,lol,, and I scooped her up,, we looked in each others eyes,, and she "told me" her name was Cricket!!! ;-) so,, that was it,, she looked like a Cricket to me!! and about the size of one!! i finally got to bring her home at 12 weeks when she reached 16 oz! and me being from Louisiana, named her(registered name) Mon Petit Cricket de Bayou,, meaning My Little Bayou Cricket!,,,,and our second Yorkie (hubby had to have his own ,,dontchaknow?) lol,, I wanted to name her Chloe,, but her moms name was Chloe and hubby didnt like it,, so i said how about Dixie,, nope,, he didnt like that,, i told him some of the names in her background,, her daddy is Roscoe so he quickly said ,,ok then,, she is Daisy!,, Daisy Duke of Logansport is her registered name,,,then comes Trixie,, who came to us from our great breeder (now friend),, who GAVE us Trixie in "replacement" for Daisy,, who we bought to breed later on,,who turned out to have Demodectic Mange,, which is only transfered mother to nursing pup,,and the breeder had NO idea her mom had a problem,, but thats all taken care of now,, pulled from her breeding program even though she appears perfectly healhty,, etc..but Trixie came to us as a replacement (but we KEEP Daisy,, shes hubbys baby) and have her under treatment and she is doing great,, and is now spayed,,but anyway,, lol, ,Trixie just "told" me her name too,, on our ride home from the breeder,, as she is just full of Trix(tricks) ,, as she tossed her cookies on my SHOULDER 3 times on our drive home,, and her ears will not stand up but her coat is perfection!,, and my kids loved The Flopsie Bunnys (book) and she reminded me of it,, so,, her registered name is Tale of Beatrix Potter,, Trixie is her given name!! sooooooooooooooo,, anyone still here? LOL, i can tend to run on, at any given time, lol, ya'll have a great day!

I had names picked out for boys even before I knew I was getting 2 boys! My mom, her hubby and I sat around picking out names for the boy I was going to get. Thank god 2 of the names I really liked, bc I ended up buying 2 boys! I went to see them about 10 days before I could go and pick them up (I was moving the day after I went to see them so the woman held them for me for a week longer at her house until I settled in my new place) Everyone calls my dogs, affectionately little dorks! haha so we were going through stereotypical 'dork' names... Poindexter became dexter and we just loved the name Fletcher.

When I brought my 1st yorkie pup home it took me almost a week to find a name that would fit her My whole family was suggesting girl names... But it was when my brother said "Maggie" (from The Simpsons) and I looked at her tiny little perfect baby face that I knew that the search for a name was over... But latelly I've been calling her Maggie Lou Don't ask why...

W/ my 2nd yorkie pup things were different... I've already had picked Hannah's name before bringing her home...

Someone else said they had London picked out, that's one of the names on my list. Just might be a sign I'm so stuck on Duchess for some reason or another, but I'm thinking it may be to hard for her since she's going to be a tiny girl. I like Hershey also, because she looks like a little chocolate kiss. I also like Truffles but my father doesn't like that, so many opinions and it's my dog What do you guys think, who votes for:

Also, Charlsie, Savannah, Willa, Lyda Rose, Lacey...to name just a few.

It has to be soft and pretty, she's going to be a tiny girl. I want something different though and not to common. I'm I being to difficult? This is so hard, maybe be as hard as potty training.

I love the name Yasmin, it is so exotic , but I also love the name Honey, cuz they are just so sweet , my boy is Sweet William and he lives highly up to his name!

Very funny Kristen! I say since Chris is the cat lover, let him name any cat you may (or may not get), and you can name your "yorkie" ANYTHING you want!

BTW........Lucky and Lexie's names were picked out after we got them, but Toby was named before. We saw plenty of pictures of him here on YT before he came to live with us though.
