All the dogs I've had growing up and now have all been named before we got them. Sometimes they fit the name right away, other times it takes a while but it always ends up that it's like they've always been named that.
We used to have a Scottish terrier, who we got at about six months. She was previously named Doris, but she didn't suit it and didn't respond to it. The previous owners (and breeders) did not mind us renaming her, so we called her Tess (the name we had been thinking of) and she suited it so well, and it didn't take her long to respond to it. |
