| they should stay at least until they are awake incase something happens which it usually doesn't but still ! theres something that can be given to reverse sedation and help them wake faster they should already begin waking as soon as gas is turned off though if not they were given to much sedative!! it goes by body weight it's different for every pet. subq - under skin fluids can be given to help wake also just keep an eye on breathing and colour of tongue/gums should be pink not white! they are scared when they 1st wake some do scream because they are confused they will bite as they aren't fully aware of what's happening. be careful i hope all is well!

| No, it's not normal in the US. But he should be fine. Just keep an eye on him and if anything seems wrong, get him back to the vet. It shouldn't take him too long to start waking up...although he'll be groggy for most of the day or even until the next day

| At least think of it this way.. while he is still asleep he will get to hear the voice of the person he loves most telling him its okay... *tears welling up*... at least he won't be hearing the loud sounds of the vet and other dogs, just the person he loves as he comes out of his sleep... so sweet... Give him kisses as soon as you see him!! he will know.
