they should stay at least until they are awake incase something happens which it usually doesn't but still ! theres something that can be given to reverse sedation and help them wake faster they should already begin waking as soon as gas is turned off though if not they were given to much sedative!! it goes by body weight it's different for every pet. subq - under skin fluids can be given to help wake also just keep an eye on breathing and colour of tongue/gums should be pink not white! they are scared when they 1st wake some do scream because they are confused they will bite as they aren't fully aware of what's happening. be careful i hope all is well!
