YAYYY!! A bouncing fury baby girl, I bets he's so precious! Have to keep coming back in and checking to see if she's had more and how Momma, the babies and you are all doing. Do you have any idea how many she's having?

How long is normal between pups? The vet only saw two, one in each horn. The first one was born about 3:45. It's been over an hour.

I was trying the breeders forum and general discussion...trying to get someone to respond. Again...anybody out there...how long is okay between pups. There are definitely two, one is each horn. 1st was at 3:45. She is pushing ...I think the water broke just a few minutes ago. She keeps wanting to jump out of the whelping box and run off. 1st baby is doing great. I had to retie the umbilical cord because Porsche licked it off.

With active pushing 2 hours is the longest you want to let them go. If she's been resting and is just now picking up the pace she should be okay. You said the water burst. Watch for a dry birth. If she is straining and can't seem to be still you might want to glove up and with the help of alot of lube see if you can see a couple of little feet. This will also provide some feathering to help the contractions along.

Aweee, I hope the second one gets here soon and then Momma and the babies are all ok. I've never had a dog that had babies before so I havne't a clue about what to do. I'm sorry I can't be of more help but it sounds as though someone has given you some good advice already. have you called your vet or an emergency hospital and asked them?

Great advice Tami. If she wont let you stick a finger inside, I noticed on a couple on my deliveries that if you start scratching around their tail (you know how they wiggle their butts and stick their tails back and forth when you scratch them there) that would start a contraction each time I did that. It got them going when they didnt seem to want to have the next baby. Maybe give it a try.

Porsche has been pushing for awhile now. Still no puppy#2. Called the vet. He said let her try pushing for at least another hour. He was confident from the xrays that she should be able to have this puppy. Worry...worry...worry!

I felt inside and could feel when she gave the push to get the head past the pelvic bones. Yeah. I can see a nose...I think!
