| I know.... I know........ According to "Standard" there are not "Teacup" Yorkies. They are just small. It just bothers me that there are so many referring to them as TEACUPS!!!!! (even here...in THIS THREAD... read the posts!!!!! )Let's stop calling them that!! We keep talking about how awful it is, but then turn around and call them TEACUPS!!!! ....... Sorry, needed to say it.......... just a pet peeve!!

One reason the term "teacup" is so bad is because it can be so deceiving. While there is a standard for the yorkshire terrier (up to 7lbs), there is NO standard for a Teacup Yorkshire Terrier. Because of this, breeders could sell any dog as a Teacup if they wanted to. I've seen a lot of dogs that were sold to people as teacups that ended up being larger than the Yorkie standard. It's just all so dishonest really.
