I have a "runner" and she used to be quicker than she is now. I believe she ran on three different occassions. (and I was lucky enough to always get her back.) My Lizzie always found someone to take her in, which I am greatful for! Once she was gone several days, and I of course could not sleep, and kept thinking what I needed to do. I had called the shelter, I had called all of the local vets, I had posted signs and then I thought maybe she needs a bath! I got up the next morning and started in the phone book calling all of the groomers in my area!! Which to my surprise on #3 I received all of the information I needed to find her. The people that picked her up brought her into the groomers shop for a bath and the groomer got me in touch with the folks! Of course, I had to prove that she was mine, which was not hard to do with her microchip!!

I am really wishing the best for you and your baby! If you need some help, I would be happy to make calls for you!! Just let me know!!

I know today is the day she will be back! Good luck!!

Trina and Lizzie (and soon to be another furbutt!!)

What a Wonderful positive post .............. Deliah Will be home soon Hun I just know it!!

I am sorry that she hasn't been found yet.. Don't give up my friend's little girl was gone for a whole week but with the prayers from everyone here and word of mouth in our town she was found.
Here is a small idea put up flyers in the grocery stores in your area. And if any one in your area are having rummage sales (big deal here) put the word out and you won't believe how fast word gets around town.
We will keep praying for you and your little one.

i'm so sorry your baby is missing, praying for her safe return

PiperPuppy 01-02-2008 09:33 AM

I so hope she is found soon. I picked up a puppy on New Year's Eve about 5 years ago. She was taking herself for a walk right down the sidewalk...just as if she had a person with her. I bathed her and fed her and gave lots of hugs. Had to keep the puppy away from my dog, as my dog was quite jealous. There was nobody to contact until Jan2 in my area, but I called the local vet first and someone had already been in looking for her. It was a nice reunion. She had gotten out through a hole in the fence that they did not know was there! Anyway, you may want to call any vets that are local and see, as that is where I called first. My thought was that they would tell me what to do next....but we never did get to that point.

I'm so sorry to hear about your lil baby. You both are in my prayers. I pray she is found safe and sound.

Doodlebug 01-02-2008 02:32 PM

This might be a crazy suggestion, but I would also try this if it were me.

If you have another dog or a friend or family with a dog that is close to your baby I would take them out on a leash and tell them to "find Delilah". Maybe let them sniff something of hers.

When I tell my babies to "find" the other dog they will go right to them even if we are in a store with a lot of aisles. They ALWAYS know how to find the other one. I have told each of my babies to "find daddy" when he is on a car dealership lot and I put them down and they will RUN straight to him no matter how far away he is. I don't know how they know, but they do. This might be a long shot but anything is worth a try. I would definitely try it if it were me.

AVERYxo 01-02-2008 02:34 PM

another idea..

i dont know if someone has mentioned this already or not.. BUT you SHOULD try and POST ON CRAIGSLIST, that Delilah is missing!! (you never know..just another way of putting it out there!?)

Hang in there hun.. thinking about you both, constantly-and you better believe the prayers have NOT stopped!!!

xoxoxoxo.

luckylady 01-02-2008 02:39 PM

another post from me letting you that I am still thinking of you and Delilah and hoping & praying for the best. I too check back here several times a day waiting to read good news. Stay strong and think positive!

That's actually a really GOOD idea!!! dogs are sooooo smart!!! (you can tell one of my mom's dogs, Lexi.. to go get Haley(my mom's yorkie) or my Avery and she does!) this is so true..on sooo many different levels!! such an excellent idea, Jean! And like you said..if you have a dog that you are able to do this with, let them smell something of Delilah's first!! ;) It's worth a try!!

Yashibaby 01-02-2008 03:26 PM

Could/Should I ?

I wrote to Tissy but just thought of this also. Anyone that has a MYspace could temporarily Change their screename to: Help Find Delilah!
I know this has been done before but there are Millions of people who have a myspace. I have found family members that I have seen in years on myspace.
If anyone has found Delilah, that person may have a myspace or knows the person who found a yorkie and will notify that person that Delilah's mommy is desperately looking for her.

I put a bulletin on Cookie's myspace that all his friends will see.I know she must be worried sick and not sleeping over this. I would deffinately be going insane.

I have a gate that stops mine from making it to the front door but it's not 100% . Last week my hubby and I were taking my 3 dogs out . All had their collars with ID but I wanted to put their leash on. In fact I had 3 leashes in my hands and just as I told him wait let me put the leashes on ,he decides that it's ok for them to all walk out to the car with us. I screamed no!!! But my hubby said "don't worry ,they follow me" Well Angel our almost 1 yr old did not follow us and ran out to the street and we had to chase him . My heart was in my throat and I was furious beyond words.
Things can happen in a second. So I hope Delilah's mommy knows that.
I hope she's found,it hurts reading threads like this.It also makes me more overprotective with mine.
I hope she gets online soon and reads her messages. There might be a few ideas that she hasn't tried yet...

(((hugs& prayers)))

So was she wearing tags or not???? Several people have asked, and I can't find an answer in this thread. Did I miss it?

girdygirl 01-02-2008 04:01 PM

Hope she is home now.

Rosey07 01-02-2008 04:14 PM

A strang dog came to my house once, eat up with tickes and fleas. my vet said not all scanners can pickup every chip cause they are sevral different kind. But he later left for home I guess...after I spent money on getting him cut and cleaned up and up to date on shots.

Furgie don't wear her tags...I think they are ugley and big on such a small thing.
