I didn't read through the entire thread (just looked for updates) since I was offline for over a day and didn't see this until just a little while ago. So I'm not sure what all you've been able to do. I just wanted to suggest a few things for your search: call/go by every vet in your city or even surrounding cities. Take an flyer with info and pictures. If she's microchipped, urge them to scan any new yorkie that comes into their office over the next week or so. If she isn't found, call back after a few days to let them know she is still missing. Also give the above info to all groomers & pet stores in your area Contact the police department, animal shelters, and animal control with her info. Check with the shelters a couple times a day and go by once a day to see if she's there. Post as many flyers as you can as many places as you can. Go door to door in your neigborhood and hand out flyers I really hope she's safe and can be found. I can't imagine what you're going through |
Still here and praying for your baby. I do believe in miracles, and I know there will be one here on YT. I did lose my dachshund once, she was only 6lbs. old, hard of hearing, and losing her eye sight. I posted flyers everywhere. It took 5 days for the right person to call me. Others called, but it wasn't a dachshund, or it wasn't her. This lady took her in and tried to feed her. Her kids noticed one of the flyers, and called me. So right now I know how you feel. My heart was broken too. With all of us praying for your baby to come home, I know the lord will hear us. Keep the faith. Darlene :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa |
prayers needed Delilah So sad to read your baby ran away. You are all in my prayers, please, keep your faith, she will be found. Let us know the moment she is, so we can celebrate fom a distance. Hugs with care. |
Hang in there. The little yorkie pup that found me was tiny too. She was only 2 or 3 lbs and she was running around a neighborhood with a lot of car traffic and large dogs running loose. Luckily someone saw her and picked her up. Hopefully your baby is with someone now and they will see your flyers. |
I know you are sad and depressed, and that saps your energy, but you must overcome that. Read every post here that has advice, and read that link someone kindly posted. It has excellent information. Don't just give up on your baby and write her off for dead. Someone could have her and they just don't know who to return her to. She could have found shelter somewhere. Don't give up on her. Don't give up without a fight. You really have to do this for Delilah. You owe it to her. Get some friends, relatives and neighbors to help you with the posters. Work your phone and do everything it says to do in that link. It's better than sitting home and being sad. Someone where I live got her hairless crested back after SEVEN days on the run in the hot Texas summer sun. But some people from the grade school office called her when they saw him in the playground, and some neighbor ladies stopped their cars when they saw him in the school yard, and they all called her cell. When she got there, he tried to run from her -- I think in his fear he might have bitten her -- but he was frightened and hungry and confused. BUT SHE GOT HIM BACK!!! And he is fine. So don't give up and just assume she is dead until you have proof. Don't give up. Don't give up. Don't give up. If you're right, and you find out the worst has happened, you will know you gave it your best shot. BUT if you find her, think of how grateful you will be that you didn't give up. |
I am just now reading this thread, I am so sorry to hear about your baby. You must be worried sick, keep positive thoughts. I will be praying for her safe return. |
Sending lots of prayers for you and your girl, may she be returned to you safely very soon! |
I was hoping there would be good news by now. Don't give up...keep the search going! Great job putting up posters...sometimes it takes a while for word to get around, and I'm hoping you will have her back soon. I'm so sorry you're going through this. *HUG* |
In no way am I giving up the search. All I am saying is if no one has found her and taken her in I don't hold out much hope that she is still alive. I live in a rual area with alot of big dogs that run loose as well as hawks. Plus the weather is freezing and she dose not have much hair at all, very thin and fine. Then there is the hypoglycemia to consider. I know you are all trying to comfort me but you have to admit this is not good under any circumstances. I will continue to do all I can and ask that you continue to send up the prayers for my precious baby girl. Thanks all |
I just read about Delilah....I'm so sorry. I am praying for her safe return. I don't know if anyone has suggested this yet but if you can you should put a reward on the fliers and posters to the person who returns her home. I know this sounds awful to think but a friend of mine lost his little guy and when he posted a reward they called and returned him. They had him the whole time he was missing and actually admitted that they had seen the fliers and didn't call till they saw the reward(they had planned on keeping him). Some people... Good luck.. |
I know that it must be so hard for you to keep the faith right now, but you HAVE to. When you're out looking, you need to believe that you're going to find her or you never will. Your baby girl may be out there somewhere, she is waiting for you, and you need to try as hard as you humanely can to find her. Like someone else said, if you do find out eventually that something happened to her, then you don't have to feel guilty, because you will know that you did everything you could to find her. Walk around and knock on doors. If you hear a dog bark that even reminds you of her in the slightest way, act on it. If you have a "feeling" about a "for sale" ad or something, act on it. Don't overlook ANYTHING. Im still praying! |
I flew through all the pages of this thread hoping to hear about a happy ending...until you have some good news I will send positive thoughts your way!! Dawn |
Me too..this thread has really worried me so much....Delilah, stay safe!! |

God bless you Hun . Use that booklet. |
I have been gone for a few days and I am so sad to see this first thing this am. Prayer's coming for Deliah to be returned safely to you. Be safe little one. |
Good Morning Tissy...Just checking in on ya!! So sorry to see you have not found her yet! It was freezing last night here in south Ms. I was wondering how old she is?...If you said already I missed it. I'm thinking if she is around 3 years old she might have more instinct kicking in and a survival, miracle just might be happening. It certainly looks like a miracle is in store for her. Blessings from Furgie and Rose! |
I know I asked, but, don't know if you saw...Did she have a name tag on her anywhere, to where if someone did find her, they could call you? You may want to check today with the animal shelter, I know I had read that after fireworks, a lof of scared dogs get caught and turned in to the animal shelter, and to make it one of your first calls..I just pray someone found your little angel and is keeping her safe and warm..I know she's scared and I know how upset you are...I feel so bad for you..big hugs and lots of prayers coming your way.. |

I'm checking in to see if you have found her yet. I would try walking the streets for several blocks around carrying flyers and look in the window of each house you pass. Most dogs will go to the windows to look out and you just may see her in someone's window. If you see a little yorkie that may be yours go knock on the door and tell them you see they have a Yorkie too and say your dogs name several times. If it is your puppy it will probably come running to you. I have high hopes that today is the day you find your baby. |

I would post an ad in the local paper. It is quite possible that someone picked her up. Offer a reward for information leading to her return. If Delilah was a friendly girl and not afraid of strangers then she could of been picked up by someone not from you neighborhood but maybe someone had come to a New Year's Eve party in you neighborhood, saw her running around and took her home. We are all praying for you and Delilah. |
This is what worked for me..... I am so sorry that your baby is missing! I have a "runner" and she used to be quicker than she is now. I believe she ran on three different occassions. (and I was lucky enough to always get her back.) My Lizzie always found someone to take her in, which I am greatful for! Once she was gone several days, and I of course could not sleep, and kept thinking what I needed to do. I had called the shelter, I had called all of the local vets, I had posted signs and then I thought maybe she needs a bath! I got up the next morning and started in the phone book calling all of the groomers in my area!! Which to my surprise on #3 I received all of the information I needed to find her. The people that picked her up brought her into the groomers shop for a bath and the groomer got me in touch with the folks! Of course, I had to prove that she was mine, which was not hard to do with her microchip!! I am really wishing the best for you and your baby! If you need some help, I would be happy to make calls for you!! Just let me know!! I know today is the day she will be back! Good luck!! Trina and Lizzie (and soon to be another furbutt!!) |
