| Bad Neighbors!!!! My neighbors had to go up north for an family ememrgancy last week. They asked a friend to dog sit and left. It was all real quick. Well I guess the friend they left thier 2 pups with is not such a dog fan. In the last week he has LOST their chuwawa(sp) and has left the german shepard mix outside with no food, water, or shelter! I've been going out and giving the shepard food and keeping him in clean water but I dont have much I can do for shelter. I cant bring him in my house and I dont have a garage or storage building, the neighbors are relatively new so I dont have a number for them or a key to their house. I feel so bad for the shepard(I dont even know his name) but if I call anmail control I dont know how much trouble the neighbors will get into and Im going to have to share this duplex with them for atlesst another year. The shepard will survive with my help but I soooo very much wish he had better than surviving for a life. Ive never been so mad at someone and so filled with pity at the same time. I just had to tell some one who would understand, my YT friends where dogs are the most important people. |

| You mean the Chihuahua is lost??? Be sure to tell the owners about the shepherd and how you had to care for him. I really don't know what to tell you. Bless you for caring for the poor thing.

| So they are dog sitting at the home where the dogs live? Do your neighbors have anything or you that you can put in the backyard as a makeshift shelter.. even some wood slats with a tarp over the top would be better then nothing. I hope the Chi was found and isn't still missing, how sad. I would for sure let your neighbors know how their animals were taken care of in their absense.. I would want someone to tell me

| The thing is, your neighbors probably have NO idea that their friend isn't taking care of their pets properly. Are they normally good pet owners? If they had to leave suddenly because of an emergency they probably didn't have much time to find a petsitter...they may have thought this friend would have done a good job and trusted them to care for their babies while they were away. I would just continue to take care of the dog if you can...As long as he gets food and water, he's not going to die...and hopefully his owners will be back in town soon

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I would go to the people sitting and just tell them to their faces how horrible they're being. Did the find the Chi? You are awesome for helping to take care of the shepard, though.

Keep up the good work of caring for the shepard and let your neighbors know that next time they could ask you to watch their dogs or suggest that they ask a more responsible friend to care for their pets.

| Did they find the Chihuahua?? Poor dogs......Do they live on post? You are doing the right thing by taking care of the dog, but it's getting cold out for a little chihuahua to be left out all night I feel for the poor people who had to leave their poor babies behind.

| Bad neighbor update They came home this morning. We had made a little leanto house out of plywood for the shepard and gave him our picnic blanket but were very worried last night. Then early this morning they came home, we could hear them screaming in their house. The housesitter had trashed the house and left the chi inside running for awhile so there was pee and poo everywhere. He also left the chi locked in a closet with no food or water for who knows how long. We thought he was lost since we hadnt heard or seen him since Dec. 26,he was probably locked in the closet since then! The poor baby is sooo skinny and his hair is falling out in clumps, I feel so bad for him. The owner came over and asked if we knew anything and we told her what we saw and didnt see, poor women was crying at the idea of what her babies went through. The housesitter works with her husband and WAS a friend but now the husband is planning to kill him. He has NO excuse for what he did and their not going to let him wiggle out of this. |

| One summer we had a German Shepherd visiting every day. I didn't mind, she was nice and played in the sandbox with my two sons, who were little at the time. I got worried because she was crossing the street to get to us and didn't seem to ever want to go home. I called the number on the tags but didn't get an answer. A week later I get a call from a guy who wanted to know why we called his house(he had caller ID). I asked him if he owned the dog and told him that she had spent quite a few days with us and I just wanted to let him know she was running loose. He had hired a kid to watch her and feed her and had no idea the whole time he was gone that the dog was running all over the neighborhood! You just don't know with pet sitters what is going on while you're gone. Sadly though, she got hit by the school bus the following year. We still have pictures of "Duchess" playing with my kids that summer. I wanted to ad that I'm one of those people who if they find a stray will drive up and down the block to find the owner. Last year I chased some pot belly pigs out of the road and back into what I had hoped was their house It was quite a funny sight! I left a note on the door because I couldn't catch the darn things but scared them enough to keep them in the yard. I did have the right house I found out later when I stopped back by.
