| Do you know I didnt think being a dog owner would be this stressful, I came to the conclusion that I am a bit too old now for more children and I am very happy with the two boys I got, so when I thought about getting a dog I thought that it would be nice, finish the family off its what we all needed but by god has she been a worry, i wanted a small breed because my house is not that big just an average size 3 bedroom I would of really loved a springer spaniel but I had to think practical so Yorkshire Terrier fitted the bill, but since the day I've had her i have had nothing but worry, the first night I stayed awake kept poking her to see if she was still breathing, then the worry of hyperglyaemia (i know spelt wrong), which I nearly thought she had last night, again been up all night watching thought if she was'nt any better in the morning I was going straight to my vets, but she is fine bouncing around everywhere and has eat loads i've made sure of that she's had her usually burns mixed with a bit of chicken which is the only thing she will eat, and I have tried loads of other varieties of dog food with no joy so am sticking with the Burns and chicken for now, and I have also given her treats through the day to bulk her up, gave her one of those disgusting smelly horrible things that stinks but supposed to have loads of goodness in so the person in the vet shop said, kids wont go near her because of the smell.....So what am trying to say that didnt realise a dog would be so much worry,lol........especially when she's so cute..........anywhere had to just say all that.......Happy Holidays Everyone..X Viks and Molly...... |

| Thank God she's ok. You probably remember when I had a similar scare with Kalina. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=101482 It was the worst experience, just awful. I, too, thought she was going to die. I still shake when I remember it.

| Brooke I am so glad your baby is ok.. This is the #1 reason I teach mine the Leave it comand. I don't care what it is if it falls on the ground and Mama says leave it the back up and sit down. If it is in there mouth they drop it And then I give them a yummy treat that can have. it really is easy to teach. here are two videos. http://hobbies.expertvillage.com/vid...mand-part1.htm http://hobbies.expertvillage.com/vid...mand-part2.htm |

| Hey Brooke - It's been a long time. I am so glad that Tatum is ok. We had the same thing happen to Maxi on Christmas Day. My cusin gave him a Muttini dog dish with some of those soft big treats. Well, I broke them up aand put them in the bowl for Maxi to eat. While coco was opening her giift, I notice Maxi is on his side - CHOKING!! Instinctively, I reached into his mouth and he had eaten a piece of the treat to fast and it was caught in his throat. I was scared to death. He was so pitiful after it happened. I immediately threw the treats away. My cousin felt so bad. Erika Quote:
