LUV my 3 Furrs & Alex Donating Member | Do you all think I am crazy????? I am a stay at home soon to be mommy as you all know and I really want another yorkie. I know with the baby coming soon I will be busy but I will ALWAYS have enough time to spend with my furbabies, so I though if I can deal with two, I can deal with three. My question is do you think I should wait for the baby to come or get a new puppy now...My hubby wants one really bad as well and like always he will help me loads with them. So what do you think??? I would appreciate any answer as long as YOU ARE NOT BEEING MEAN about me wanting another yorkie with a baby coming so soon.

| I just spent the last couple of months talking my sister out of getting a puppy. She was pregnant at the time. Now she has just had the baby 1 week ago and she is so busy that I'm sure she's glad I was the voice of reason. A baby is MORE than time consuming and even though hubby will help, he can't be there all the time. Puppy potty training and changing diapers don't go hand in hand. Neither can wait! I just talked to her and she was cleaning up projectile poop from a messy diaper change...can you imagine if she had a little puppy trying to get in the mix of that? Please wait till you have your baby and get in the groove of it before adding a puppy. You should enjoy both but at different times IMHO.

| Personally, I would wait. Are you going to be able to take 3 for walks at the same time as well as having your baby in the stroller? Things like that. I have 4 and I have to split them up into groups of two for walks, 3 times a day because we are still working on training. One of them is constantly into something, or needs something. Adding another one is also an added expense, which with having a new baby that could be difficult. I know it seems like "what's one more" but honestly that's what I thought too and it's been SO much more work and I don't even have a baby. |

| I think you should wait until after the baby. Especially if this will be your 1st. (not sure if it is or not) They just take up so much time and things get more complicated with a baby. Just going to the grocery store is difficult sometimes. And then you'll have less sleep at first and do you really want to have to get up and put a puppy out to potty? It's harder to be consistent with the puppy as your attentions will be elsewhere and you will miss out on the puppy stuff which can all be fun as well. Well, that's my opinion but only you know best. I would just hate for you to get another and then find it was a mistake at this time. |

| I think that you should get one..... but after you have the baby. Maybe wait for about 6 mos. I think that you will be glad that you waited. You know how much attention those new little furkids (& skinkids) need.... and I think it would be easier on YOU if you focused on 1 baby at a time. ...... Good Luck!!.... By the way, do you know if you are having a boy or girl??? How exciting!!!

LUV my 3 Furrs & Alex Donating Member | Thanks ''makemepretty'' and ''yorkiegirl83''. I thought about that too. My hubby always takes the puppies out in the morning and then in the evening. He's always done the walks with them. As far as the expense and the money, I already have someone who wants to ''give away'' the puppy for only 150 pounds because she is getting a divorce and won't be able to care for her. She is 4 months old and potty trained, so that won't be a problem. Altho' I know what you are saying, and I do think you are right sometimes. A baby is a lot of hard work and I do need a lot of people helping me make my mind up.

| I think people have given you great advise to wait until after you have the baby. You will also have to see how your furbabies will like the new baby also. I am sorry to say, many of the rescue's I got were from young families that had their furkids first and then the babies came and it was to much for everyone. Some of the Yorkies hated the new babies or the people just didn't have enough time in the day for their little ones and made the difficult decision to find new homes for them. Just have patience and you will have lots of time to get another yorkie down the road.

I know that all of my dogs were impulse decisions and sometimes I wish I would have taken the time to wait and think it over. I LOVE all my dogs so much I can't imagine life without them, but sometimes having 2 would be a lot easier. With 4 I always have to worry about vet bills, what if we have to travel, ect, I need a sitter if I'm out shopping long hours on the weekends. It's very difficult and I don't even have a baby . I just have 4 furry babies lol. | |

| I think that I would definately wait until after the baby gets here and you get settled with those new arrangements. There will still be perfect little furballs waiting for you then. |
