| ![]() I could KILL my sister...THIS ladies and gentlemen...is the product of neglect... ![]() My sister's poor yorkie, Chloe, was matted horribly when I moved back into my moms house. My mom has a dislocated elbow, and she had no idea Chloe was getting like that...because you couldn't see the matts underneath her silky topcoat. My mom was spoiling her in every other way...I mean this little girl is ROTTEN and very well cared for in all other aspects, but NOT by my sister...by my mom and I... ![]() ANYWAYS...when I moved in I immediately noticed, because I brush all mine every single day and I went to brush her too...and got a surprise! So HERE is the result, she had to COMPLETELY shaved down to the SKIN because of how badly she was matted...it was absolutely irreversible at this point, without really hurting her. It took me 3 hours to do this...and I cried for about 2 of them. So now it's the middle of winter, and the poor thing shakes every time she goes out to pee for 5 seconds. I love her to death and I HATE that this happened to this poor baby!! Please remember to BRUSH your babies EVERY day guys...having a yorkie means more work than some other breeds because of their hair, so please don't forget and neglect them! | ![]() Poor girl...she's naked ![]() My sister and I both got our yorkies three years ago for Christmas. She is 20 now and still lives with my parents and goes to college here. She took care of her dog at first, but she does nothing at all for him now..he's basically my parent's dog, although he's registered in her name and was given to her. You'll always see me say "my parent's yorkie" on here because he really is. She never feeds him, walks him, brushes him, bathes him or anything....my mom and dad do that. She'll come home and pet him and love on him for a few minutes but that's it...but she takes no responsibility for him. He stayed with me for 7 weeeks a couple months ago when my parents went on a long vacation...and I brought him back at thanksgiving since I live 5 hours away. She was here, but they knew he wouldn't get taken care of..and they'd come home to pee stains all over their house. He might get to go back home with me after New Years for a month or so because my parents are going out of town for a few weekends again...they just know she won't take care of him. I keep trying to convince them just to give him to me LOL...of course my parents love him though and would miss him. I just hope when my sister moves away from my parents once day that she doesn't get to take him with her

| ![]() Poor baby!! She's so cold now!! My mom let her miniature schnauzer get that way, My sister and I had to spend 3 days shaving him. We had to be so careful as he was matted right to the skin in parts. She said that the brush she has doesn't brush him properly.. My sister and I were so upset at her.. I was going to take a Grooming Course but have fallen into money problems right now, so I'll have to put it off till a later time!! ![]() |

| ![]() thanks for the info, we all know that Yorkies need more attention than other breeds, but sometimes we need that kick in the butt to remind us how important it is. My baby is groomed daily, it takes a long time b/c she does not sit still. But we love her so much. Cute sweater.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() Can I also add not only a daily brushing but also comb daily--often the dog looks fine on top but is matted close to the skin. |

I have a co-worker who let her Yorkie get so bad that the groomer actually yelled at her and made her sign a release in case Sugar got cut while she was being shaved and needed stitches. I guess when the mats are that close to the skin that can happen. Chloe must feel so much better now. She looks naked now, but her hair will grow back quickly and she'll be beautiful! Can you take her with you when you find a place of your own? What's one more? ![]() | |

| ![]() I would take her home with you.. Your parents will eventually get over the fact and realize that she is careless in caring for her yorkie.. your family maybe mad at you for a bit but it is worth it in my eyes.. |

| ![]() Poor thing. She does however, look just like my Lucy did when I took her in to be groomed last summer. My Dh was sooooooooo mad. Lucy was not matted at all. I had given her a bath and combed her out. I just wanted her trimmed up a bit. Stupid me, I should have done it myself. I used to be a groomer myself, so I could have done it. I just wanted her shortened up, not scalped. I used to hate when people brought in matted dogs and insisted they be brushed out. It was hard work for me, but mostly very painful for the dogs. Poodles were bad, but the worst were s**tzu's. People did not trim them like you see them now. I like a full coat, but if the owner is too lazy to comb them often, then they need another breed. Maybe a Minpin or something. |

| ![]() Thank goodness you came along. Poor little girl, she is very cute. Yorkies do need to be brushed daily, and some people just don't get that they don't brush themselves. So please brush your babies.

YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() Poor little thing just looking at her makes me shiver! Jeter is only 12 weeks old but I have been combing him daily even though he hates it sense the day he came home. I know that he needs to get used to it sooner or later.
