Good point. If you aren't getting down to their skin, they can still get really bad mats. You can't brush their hair like you would brush your own. You have to get underneath by flipping it back and brushing it in sections, then going through the entire coat with a comb. (Chris Christensen Buttercombs are great for this!)

I have a co-worker who let her Yorkie get so bad that the groomer actually yelled at her and made her sign a release in case Sugar got cut while she was being shaved and needed stitches. I guess when the mats are that close to the skin that can happen.

Chloe must feel so much better now. She looks naked now, but her hair will grow back quickly and she'll be beautiful!

Can you take her with you when you find a place of your own? What's one more?
