| What do you think about this name I have had my boy now for almost a week and have still not named him. Poor little guy I think I like the name Dakota. It means friend in Cherokee. I thought about calling him Kota for short, but really like Dakota. Is this name too long for a dog? Will he be able to recognize it? Also, what kind of name did you put on your dog's papers? I thought about just doing a first and middle name like a person ( I like Dakota James HE HE) but I think some people do it differently. Anyway, what do you guys think? |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Yeah, I love Dakota! He will definitely recognize it. And who knows, later on you might decide to shorten it to Kota. That's cool too. I'm not sure if there are any rules for AKC names. I know most people get fancy with then. We made Eddie's "Sir Edward Hunter"
