| ![]() There's no solution really is there? I suppose she is expecting you to put them in kennels or something? my dogs have never been in kennels before and i'm not about to start for anyone! My MIL is a doggy person and we have always taken our dogs there and she has dogsat for us a few times so i guess we are lucky. My hubbys sister is NOT doggy and she has just bought a new house that she is dying to show off to us, she will invite us overnight at some point but if i can't take Pixie with me then i won't be staying, I can't leave Pixie with anyone, she's just too tiny i wouldn't be able to relax.

| ![]() I would have done the same thing! I'm very lucky...My MIL loves Scooter...I have to watch so that she doesn't give him people food because she feels that if we are eating, so should he. Believe it or not, my Sister in Law had a Husky that she used to bring to every occasion (this is pre-Scooter) and while we were having our dessert in the living room, she'd fix the Husky a bowl of vanilla ice cream. We're a very animal friendly family!! Further more, I've always felt that there was something missing in people who don't like animals!! I hope you and your baby have a great Thanksgiving!! |

| ![]() Wow, I guess I'm lucky, We will be having thanksgiving at my son's and I didn't plan on bringing Romeo because we don't live to far away. We were just gonna check on him once in a while. My son wouldn't hear of it. He said he already brought the gates up from the cellar and to bring his play pen. He said he knew I wouldn't be able to relax and enjoy myself if I was worring about my baby. He said it would like leaving his little brother at home. LOL |

| ![]() I'm sorry to hear that your MIL didn't give in. I feel the same way you do, if my yorkies are not welcome, then I'm not welcome. Thanksgiving is a holiday to rejoice in the things we are thankful for and be with the ones we love. Two of the biggest things I am thankful for are my boys, and I couldn't be away from them on Thanksgiving. I applaud you for standing your ground and hope you all have a great day spending quality time together. Happy Thanksgiving! ![]()

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | ![]() oh i'm sorry you have to go thru this. I understand how you feel, it's so frustrating! We always used to take turn between my house, my moms, and my aunts, but since my uncle doesn't want me to bring Bengi, we're not doing holiday dinners are their house anymore. |

| ![]() How far of a drive was it? I have never been without my husband of almost 31 years at Thanksgiving, nor would I ever be...Dont get me wrong, I love my dogs, but, my family comes first..if it's a long drive, I would have found someone to watch my dogs(if they weren't wanted there), or I would have kenneled them for a day...I know you love your dogs, as I do mine, but, to me, Thanksgiving and Christmas are a time for family, and my human family has and always will come first if that choice has to be made... |

| ![]() this might sound nutty, but I have never actually thought of asking my MIL if it was ok to bring Hope.. LOL.. She goes there with me all the time, they are not dog people but I dont even put her down inside, she stays in my lap and I have never been told not to bring her, she is just there... they dont live far away from me but I choose to have her with me... this year, I am bringing her to my mom's(next door) but leaving her at home with the other pups when we go to the in-laws, she is more comfortable at home... Have a great day and enjoy a relaxing day at home.. I wish I could... d

| ![]() I am so sorry for your situation. Would she mind is you took him and kept him in a carrier. I have one of those front pack carriers and Murfee rides in it a lot. That way there would be NO chance of him pooping in her precious house. I guess I just don't understand people who don't allow dogs in their houses...what if one of her grandchildren had an accident on her floor. Sorry I sound so negative. I don't really mean to be mean. You can come here for Thanksgiving ![]()

| ![]() I would feel the same way...... everyone from friends, family, inlaws know we are a clan we bring Toby everywhere. Whne inviting us they know Toby is going and if they don't want him there then were NOT going period. I know Thanksgiving and Christmas are family holidays but your MIL is just being ugly and I would totally cash in on a chance to not see them. ![]() Even though I can say this because my husband would be on the same boat, he would never dream of going without me or Toby. Sorry you have to split up for Thanksgiving, but think if it this way you get to eat dinner in your PJ's and more turkey for you ![]() Hope you have a great time.
