And who ever said culling was killing the pup? Maybe to some it might be, but to most of us, culling means spaying or neutering/ not for breeding purposes. I think in the boxer breed, culling out the all white pups was done because most of them are born deaf. I believe those pups were euthanized. I dont know if that is a common practice anymore. In the old days, culling did mean killing the pups but nowadays it just means to separate them for one reason or another. |

I think there is alot of misunderstanding going on in this thread.... As far as someone's dog having been called 'ugly,' I can only hope that Admin dealt with that as they saw fit as I think it would have been uncalled for. :thumbdown |
I think that is common knowledge that in the old days culling meant putting down. But even then, not all "culled" animals were destroyed. I dont believe its a common practice today except in the greyhound/racing scene. |
STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT! PLEASE. Yes, there HAS been bashing and Admin kindly edited one persons comments and removed another persons comments completely. All this because there is one very nice litter of Chocolates in the YT Nursery? If I continue to breed my Chocolate pair or not breed my chocolate pair it is totally up to me and nothing anyone can say or do here will affect my decision. There have been insinuations of byb, non-reputable breeder and who knows what else. People THERE IS NOT ONE SINGLE DOG IN MY BACK YARD. And anyone who knows me knows I have always tried to improve the Yorkshire Terriers that I personally have. My blue/gold puppies that I currently have are from 6th generation of dogs I raised myself. Who else can say that about their Yorkshire Terriers. I don't see all this because there are Parti yorkies, golden yorkies. My Chocolates are not inbred, so what is the problem? I have seen no health problems in my Chocolate Pair's offspring, so what is the problem? I, myself am not trying to show my Chocolate Yorkies, so what is the problem? I have never been unkind to any of you, so what is the problem? I have never said a bad thing about anyone else's dog, so what is the problem? Just a unique color? Gee! I was really trying to stay out of this hoping it would die down, but has not. I think some of you all owe Sue(PineHaven) an apology. Can you not see that she has studied Genetics extensively? That she has a vast knowlege of the genetics of Yorkies, colors and if she doesn't know the answer, she knows who does. I am in awe of her posts on these subjects. If you want to learn something, search up the posts she has made on here. I could read her posts for hours. And not once have I seen her respond back with anger, only with the knowledge she has obtained from the study of genetics. And BTW I did not know her until this thread, not that I do now, just know that she excels in genetics more than anyone else I have read on YT. I think we can all learn a lot from her. Why argue this any further? Is it just for the drama? Or is it a pitcher of Martini's sitting in front of some of you? Oh and then we come to the price issue. I have been raising Yorkies long enough to know the quality of what I have and what they should be priced at. Doesn't everyone else know the quality of what they have and what they should price their puppies at? There are others priced higher and some priced lower. It is that way in whatever you see on the market anywhere. I would like to say thank you also to all those who have sent me nice pm's and have commented on my puppies, both the Chocolates and the Blue/Golds and to the 7500 (approx.) people who have viewed my Chocolate babies. I know you would ALL be in love with them if you could see them in person! Can't we just put an end to the drama? People's feelings are getting hurt here and that is unnecessary. We can all have good input for each other about our Yorkies. Pat |
Wow Pat/Yorkydiva....I guess I missed the edited/deleted comments. (I guess that is a good thing! ) I'm not sure what they said, but I never once got the indication that this thread was 'all about you' or your litter or your dogs. I thought it was just discussing things in general, not targeting one individual. :( It is unfortunate if you felt like a targeted victim--I don't think it was anyone was trying to single you out...again, unless it was deleted. The subject of breeding non standard Yorkies...be it size, color, etc extends way beyond just you. It is a big deal to many that promote the breed by only breeding dogs that meet the standard as it is written. Not everyone agrees with the practice of breeding the non-standard dogs and they have the right to respectfully discuss it as you do to promote it. I believe that for the most part your thread bragging about your chocolate litter has been widely respected by those who don't agree with you? IMO, this is just somthing all sides will just have to agree to disagree on. :) |
A message from the can opener I started this thread and had no idea just how many worms were in this can! I learned more about genetics than I knew before and found most of it interesting. Can we (those in disagreement) at this time, agree to disagree and kill the thread? Teresa |

YOU ARE THE ONE DOING THE BASHING, THE BAD MOUTHING AND PUT DOWNS, BUT LORDY DONT LET SOMEONE CALL OLD PAT OUT.. GET A GRIP..THE CHOCOLATE LINE IS NOT YOUR LINE! IF YOU WANT TO BE TRUTHFUL ABOUT IT...THE DOGS IN YOUR PEDIGREE CAN BE TRACED BACK TO ALBEMARLE NC, THEY BELONGED TO A LADY NAMED CONNIE..MY VERY CLOSE FRIENDS MENTOR WHO HAS BEEN DECEASED FOR A FEW YEARS NOW. THE REECE IN YOUR PEDIGREE...NOT THE REECE YOU BREED WITH NOW, BUT THE GRANDFATHER OR GREAT GRANDFATHER (I DONT HAVE IT SITTING IN FRONT OF ME ) IS ALSO THE GREAT GRANDFATHER TO MY MOJO, AND TO QUITE A FEW OTHERS IN THIS AREA. GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE, DO WHAT IS RIGHT BY YOUR DOGS, NOT YOUR POCKET! |

No this is not ruining a thread, it is stating facts. I am tired of seeing myself and others put down by a few select people on here because we love the off colored yorkies and I cannot stand someone who acts better than everyone else when she does everything that YT'rs say is wrong. |
It is stating YOUR facts about Pat...not about what the OP's question was...she didnt ask what we thought about Pat..so ya it is ruining the thread...why not start your own thread up in the breeder reviews section? You can also put Pat on your ignore list if you like..we have that option on YT..its a good option too. I am not saying your are wrong or you are right...just that there is a right and wrong place to post this kind of stuff..and this is the wrong spot.. Dawn |
If anyone is interested in finding out more about the chocolate or other non-standard yorkies please feel free to email me at Jacklynn70@verizon.net If your interested in helping to make these colors become recognized by all dog registries we could use all the backing we can find. Please do not email if you only have malicious intentions however. There are quite a few people that are trying to make a difference and these heated discussions do not help the cause. |
I am just not going to stoop to the level this has dropped to. It is all because I will not join their forum or their cause.:thumbdown |
