| Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i'm so sorry max has parvo but it looks like you caught it really early if there has been no vomiting or diarrhea yet. I've seen many dogs pull thru parvo with no problems. Since he didn't get his full series of puppy boosters he wasn't fully protected i'll be praying for a quick and full recovery.

				 | I am so very sorry you're having to go through this...I know it must be very painful. I will be praying for his speedy recovery. I think it's important for all of us to remember to be SO careful when our babies are young...no Petco, no parks, and don't let them walk on the ground or floor at the vet...and I would never even pet any other dogs while mine were young...I was just too scared... |

				 | I'm just amazed at the thoughtfulness and support so many of the members of this board have shown. It's the first forum I've even been on where people actually seem to care. Thank you all very much. My vet did feel that it was caught very early and that it was also possible he was partially protected by his first couple shots and therefore didn't have a full blown case. As I was leaving I turned to him and asked him did he really feel that Max would be okay. He nodded his head and said, "I really do". He talked the whole time like there wasn't a question of whether I would be back to pick Max up. I really don't know what I could of done differently. I did not take Max anywhere, even though I really wanted to take him to PetSmart. I, or the nurse, held him the entire time last week at the vets. Aside from playing in the yard, I couldn't of protected him anymore. If I would of kept him out of the yard though, I don't know how we would potty train. Just goes to show that despite being so careful, things can slip by you anyways. |
