| I am so, so very sad right now I posted a thread yesterday about my puppy being lethargic and throwing up. He seemed better today but I took him to the vet this afternoon anyway. The vet checked him over, said he didn't think it was Parvo but did I want to run the test on him just to be sure. I said yes just so that could be ruled out. It popped up positive right away. I have tried so hard not to expose Max to anything. I haven't taken him anywhere, just to the vets office last Friday. My vet said he hasn't had any dogs with Parvo in for quite awhile so I don't think that's where Max got it. I guess he picked it up in our yard. We live in the country and there's really no telling what could have gone through our yard. The vet said he really felt that Max would recover just fine since it was caught so early. He's going to put him on antibiotics to help with any infection that could be caused by stuff seeping through the intestinal walls. He'll also put him on IV fluids, which means shaving his pretty hair. I am just so depressed over the whole thing. I haven't let myself even think about the possiblity of him not making it through this. I'm thinking about him being shaved, stuck with needles, sitting all alone in a strange cage and I'm sure being scared out of his mind. He's been doing so good with potty training this past week and I imagine this will cause a regression in that area. Poor little Max just doesn't deserve this horrible sickness! Please keep little Max in your thoughts and prayers. |

| I'm sorry to hear about your fur baby. Best wishes to you and him for a speedy recovery! Try not to think about what he's going through right now, and focus how you'll spoil him rotten when he gets home!

| Thank you all so much! In such a short time so many people have already taken time to post well wishes. I really appreciate it! I have a 2 year old and an 8 month old but somehow my house is so lonely right now without Max in my lap. How can such a little dog have such a huge presence? Now to figure out how to stop crying.... |
