| Dexter is a lovley colour...I don't usually like the lighter ones, but he looks glorious....I hope Casper's coat grows in as nice as that now he's gone silver....he was nice when long and dark ! > I didn't know what colour they'd end up when I got them. Tara was 6 weeks when I bought her, and supposed to be about 7lbs as well, but grew to 4lbs and tiny ! In the end I liked her small that much that I looked for dogs the same size and got Casper at 19 months, 4lbs and dark - now 5 years and silver, and Tammy at 3 years, 3lbs and black...now 4 years and 4lbs and healthy - she was in a terrible mess when I got her. I love all Yorkies so much that each is individually beautiful and I would home them all if I could ! Debra x Terrible Trio Tara the "Scottish Queen" Cheeky Casper Tammy the "ASBO" (anti social behavioural order !) |

| My oops, I guess I automatically thought of the soft coats because they're really dark but I'm seeing you all do have darker silk. My girl (she was recently stolen) has the most beautiful darker silver, it grew quickly and was really easy to care for. I've figured out how to attach a picture to give an idea of what was in my brain. The one on the left is my Lulu but the male on the right (really dark) is a soft coat, which is what I thought was the topic. Alana

| I prefer darker colors too...a dark steel blue and and tan. Making sure the parents are both dark in color will probably help ensure the puppy stays darker, especially if the grandparents and dogs further back in the lines are darker as well. Lacy's dark in color. Here are pics 1 & 2: 10 weeks old 3 & 4: 6 or 7 months old

| Here's my crew of darkies! Jazzie, Jolie & Jen! Jazzie is our first Yorkie and when her coat stayed dark, we were looking specifically for new babies who had more potential to stay dark since we like the coloring so much. Our Jewel who passed away was a darkie too (She's the 4th picture)

My wife and I hoped that Eddie wouldn't turn light, and he didn't. Then we got Jack and we realized they're cute no matter what color they are. I was actually surprised when I learned that dark bodies are not standard. Here's Eddie, dark and proud:

| I love the dark coats also....I saw the parents, one was darker and one was lighter I figured I had a chance he was going to be dark because he was on the darker side as a pup....the first pic is him as a pup the second one is when he was about 5 months old and the third is what he looks like now....

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My 2 are almost 2 Pixie and 2 1/2 year old Cali. Different breeders. Both have the black coat. Pixie has the very silky, thinner coat and Cali has the very cottany thick coat. Neither of them have any lighter gray on their backs. Cali has some on her underside from beings shaved there a few times. My next one I hope gets the lighter silvery blue.
