Congratulations. I'd get a harness instead of a collar, because of collapsing trachea.

You should keep in mind that socialization is also a concern. My puppy training magazine (the one at Petsmart I think that has the yorkie pup on the cover) said that socialization must occur before 6 mos of age. I think if you have the puppy out at thanksgiving the pup will be fine. Diseases are definitely a concern but at the same time you can't shelter the pup to death- the puppy needs to get some exposure to people. My older dog was a stray and I got her at 6 mos and she's deathly afraid of people/bites and I think it's because she was improperly socialized before I got her and the damage was already done- so keep that in mind and I think the pup will be fine meeting new people at thanksgiving (maybe just hold her vs letting her run around). Congratulations! How is little Peanut doing?

I really don't think socialization is going to be a concern...I know the family Peanut came from and Peanut is most likely already a well rounded little Yorkie!

Peanut seemed so happy when I dropped her off last night. I think she will have a great time and be a very happy little girl. Congrats Mom and Dad. Here are a few more pics of her. And yes she has been socialized with people but not other pets yet till the vaccinations are well under way. My sons friends came by last night to say good bye to her before I took her to her new parents.

The pics are of her growing up and the final one is saying good bye to her former Dad.

she is doing really well! ed is learning how to take care of a puppy! he was a little nervous last night... but he'll get the hang of it. today peanut made a mad dash to her pee-pad and we were excited!

we pretty much lined the kitchen with puppy pads last night, and she peed on almost all of them! hilarious. today i took away 1/2 of them, to see if she'll use them the right way. she is still eating her poo sometimes though, so we're trying to catch her before it's too late.

i'll keep you updated!

ps. she did say she misses you guys!

I think I still have some stuff here that will stop her from eating her poo. But lets give it a few days to see if she stops on her own now that she is away from Mom and won't being seeing her doing it. Keep me posted.

I am glad Ed is settling in to the role of fatherhood. He will do a good job. Just enjoy her and don't be so nervous about everything, it will all fall into place.
