| NOW YOU'RE TALKING STACY...now THAT is something I can do well, stare her down. I never thought about that, I will try it. And I'm NOT sorry I asked, I love learning more. She's my first so I need all the help I can get.

| Have you tried doing this on a slick surface wher she can't get traction to pull away from you? (like a countertop) Right now, she is winning this battle because you let go. If she is wiggling away, you need to hold tighter or get someone else to help you hold her. Everytime she escapes your control, you have a problem that can get bigger fast. |

| OH my Gosh I think I've done everything wrong that you've so far said not to do. Ok I'm going to go give it another try. I refuse to let her win me over (at least where the harness is concerned)

| Yep, same problem here. The only other thing I would add is Stomper would whimper like a baby when it was on...like he was being abused or something...

| Same problem here, she gets feisty putting it on and taking it off. She does not seem to like harnesses, dresses, or bows. What a tomboy!

| vainchick- You did it! I am so proud of you. It will get easier every time if you stick with being the boss. I know she looks like a heartbroken, dejected little waif, but she will get over it, I promise, and will become the sweet natured charmer you want, instead of a tyrant whose shenanigans aren't so cute during a daily battle. It's very much like parenting- The best moms have had each kid scream 'I hate you!' at some point...in the end they are grateful for the boundaries and structure you provide, it gives them a safe, solid base from which to soar..truly spoiled kids are a pain in the butt, and not ever happy. |

| Olivia doesn't get nippy, but she does growl to try to pretent that she's the boss. I thought she was getting better, but last night she gave me attitude when I put it on her. I do have to say, though, that she's only had it on a handful of times so she's pretty new to the whole harness thing. When I put it on her every day last week and made her walk around the house with it on to get used to it, she didn't say a word by the last day. How old is your baby? Mabye she just needs to get used to it a liitle more. I know Olivia is used to running around naked, so I'm sure anything on her must feel a little strange at first. |

| I just don't know if velcro would be secure enough though. And plus, at a certain point, you just want them to accept what they have. I can't keep spending tons of money on other things because she doesn't like it..you know? I want her to adapt to the things she currently has. Now if it was hurting or harming her, or if it was uncomfortable I would def. buy something else. But she's just being a brat about it and I don't want her to think mommy will always do the run around if she's a brat. But thanks for the suggestion, I might consider it if it becomes a big problem.

| Maximus too is a pain in the a**..when it come to putting the harness on..I make him do it but he drew blood this weekend...when he tried to bite me and I tried to move my finger his big too (canine???)..went right into my thumb..he realized and stood still after but I was SOOO mad...I ended up taking the harness of and went to get a pedicure instead..I know that didn't solve anything..but he didn't get to go the park which I think he missed???...anyways..I notice that if I open the door, pick him up and let him look out from the screen door it is like 10 times easier to get the harness on..but like Nobella I don't want to have to bribe him..I want him to realize I am not trying to hurt him because he acts like that is what I am trying to do

| I swear if anyone walked by, they would think I'm trying to kill her because of all the growling, crying and squirming she's doing. It's like when you take your kid to the store and they cry so much because they want something, people think you hit them or something.

| Katie is totally ok w/ my putting her harness on. In fact, whenever I take it out she gets all excited and runs over because she know that it's walk time! But Codie is a total NIGHTMARE! He tried to bite the harness and I slip it over his head. He does not bite ME but he growls and runs away from me. Strange dog! LOL

| For those of you having trouble with the harness that goes through the head maybe look into the that is step-in harness. It is much easier for both you and your baby cause you aren't trying to squeeze their head through it. You just basically put their feet in at the bottom and click it at the top. Makes like SOOOO much easier... I know I wasn't all that excited about buying another harness, but I promise it was money well spent! No more confusion on am I a putting it on correctly, etc... you have the thing on in a snap! |
