| I've thought about it too but still don't have a solution... Normally I would say my mom & dad but they have a HUGE Bouvier Des Flanders that is not very socialized and I don't even take the girls to visit because I'm afraid Eos will hurt them or worse... My sister has cats and Jazzie is allergic to cats... Dan's brother - maybe... but I know he won't groom them and he's gone a lot. I really should plan ahead but...

| I guess Lacy would go to my parents because she loves to be with Rylie and I know they would take good care of her. I'm sure she'd have to start eating kibble though and wouldn't wear any clothes and would probably get all her hair cut off I don't think they'd like always having to take her outside on a leash either since she doesn't listen off-leash like Rylie does. But I know they'd take care of her. There are a couple of people I know here in CS that I would be okay with her living with too because they take great care of their yorkie babies. Now my cats, I have no idea where they would go. No one likes my older cat and my parents still aren't happy with me getting the newest one and they aren't crazy about cat hair in the house.

| Yep, I'm at an age that thinking about this is important. I have a good Yorkie-loving friend who would take them, plus a back-up, both mentioned in my will, along with $ to care of the babes. Last edited by La Gringa; 10-29-2007 at 07:33 PM. Reason: grammar |

| If anything happened to me, they would stay with my fiance. Knock on wood, but if something happened to both of us, I would prefer them to go with my parents, we actually kinda got into an arguement once over this because he said he wants them to go with his mom. I know his mom loves them so much, but my parents have always owned dogs and know more about them, but if they couldn't take them then of course my fiance's mom. I just choose my parents because they have always had dogs and know more about raising them. I haven't discussed this with my mom, but since you brought up the subject I'll definitly have to, you never know what can happen.

| Sorry this is a very MORBID post to me. To even talk about it. The people who love you and know you the most would know what to you with you lil one. Why even talk about it???? I lost my fiance to cancer in 04 and his brother has his dog. I loved his dog. The dog had puppies in Aug I was given the pick of the litter and I chose to get the dog I always wanted. And I got Roxy. One month after he passed my Dad was diagnosed with throat cancer his treatment was good. Two years later he fell down steps leaving him with TBI. So don't worry about what tomorrow might hold think about the joy life is brining you NOW>>>>

| Okay you already said that once... I'm very very sorry about your fiance I can't imagine losing someone you love so much. The purpose of this thread was not to be morbid though. All of us will die at some time or another...hopefully when we are very old, but as you know, we could die at anytime in our lives. Because of this, it is best to be prepared for that in case it happens. If no one thought about it, we wouldn't have organ doners, kids wouldn't be given guardians, who knows where our dogs would end up... That's why we have to make sure that important things are taken care of in case we do die

Very well said! I for one am glad this post was brought up, because like I said, I never even discussed it with my mom, now it's on the top of my priority list. If anything was to happen to both my fiance and I, I don't want to be looking down on my babies being in a shelter, or on puppy death row.

| There's nothing morbid about preparing for something that will happen to everyone. My Yorkies are my only family and I want to be 100% certain they will be loved when I'm not around. Thanks for the post. |

I wish i could say the same for my dad but he is not really a dog person, he doesn't live with me so oh well. My mom loves them very much but idk she works everyday, doesn't understand the breed as much so that's why i think they would be better somewhere else. Though im sure if something did happen to me she would want to keep them, but im afraid she would give one or 2 away and i want them to all stay together. I asked my bf today about it and he said they're his babies and he would keep them all, just not put as much clothes on them as i do He said only girls do that

| Donating YT 11K Club Member | I'm sorry that is your opinion. I don't think it's morbid at all. I am sooo sorry your fiance died The reason for this thread was cause i want to know if everyone, if anyone is prepared about who their babies will go to if something happens to them, not necesarilly die but get sick and can't take care of them any longer, idk anything. I think it's always good to be prepared, if anything only good can come from that. I am only 20 years old and healthwise am very healthy, etc. but anything can happen, even to young ppl and older ppl so for that i want to be prepared and make sure my babies go to a great home! I am their primary caretaker, i have a bf but they all live with me and only me and him know how to care for them properly, what they like, what food they eat, etc. So it's my responsibility that if something happens to me or my bf to make sure they have a good place to go. I really don't see anything wrong with that. There was a lady in my building that died. She was dead in her apt. for 2 weeks they predicted and she lived alone. She had a cat and a dog. Luckily the dog was found alive when they found her but the cat was nowhere to be found. The dog was so attached to her and so out of it when the cops took him away. My heart hurt so much when my mom told me how he looked the day she saw him. She said that she swore she saw a tear fall from his eye and he was very still and looking down, looked terrible that his owner had passed. Sadly the poor dog was taken to a shelter, and maybe put to sleep because his owner didn't prepare where he was to go if she died. She had only one son and he didn't want the dog, i still don't know what happened to the poor dog but that he was taken to a shelter. I wasn't here when all this happened and it was about 2 yrs ago but when i heard about that i always said to myself if i ever have another dog i will make sure they have somewhere to go if i die..
