Very well said! We are Yorkless right now, but one day we hope to get another Yorkie, and if/when that day comes, we need to make plans. We have no family we can rely on, so I will join the local Dallas group and meet and get to know other Yorkie lovers so I can have a plan A, B and even C if the unexpected happens, and hopefully I will be part of someone's back up plan too. I've seen too many dogs in rescue whose owners died or wound up in a nursing home and the poor dogs were taken in by family that didn't really want them and wasn't prepared to care for them as they should be cared for. This is really a very loving thing to do for your pets. I am so glad for this thread.
